A fantastic part of the resort to ski. The huge gondola can be a bit of a wait, but it is totally worth the wait. The views are breathtaking, the skiing is world-class. Cross the border into Italy for lunch and ski back into Switzerland after. Unforgettable!!

Matterhorn Glacier paradise is located at 3883 m on the peak called Klein Matterhorn, and you go there by cable car from Trockener Steg, which in turn is reached from Schwarzsee, going up from Zermatt via Furi. This is, to my knowledge, the highest peak that yo can reach by cable car.
It can also be reached on ski from Cervinia, via Plateau Rosa or Theodulpass if you have the patience for a series of plate-lifts (which are ot operating every day).
Views are incredible - absolutely stunning.
It can be really rough up here on windy/snowy days.

The visit to the Glacier paradise was an amazing experience. We were staying in Zermatt. The cable car station was less than ten minutes walk from the city ( or village center). There were various stops along the way but those were mostly for skiers. Since we were just on a leisure trip, we did not stop at any of those but headed straight up to Klein Matterhorn. There was a 50% discount on the tickets for Swiss pass holders.

One good tip would be to check the view at the top on the swiss tourism website ( which can easily be googled). Since weather will play a major role in whether or not your day turns out to be good. The weather in the morning was gloomy but cleared up by noon. That's when we started our ascent.

The temperature up there was -28 degree Celsius in Feb. The viewing point was breath taking though taking my gloves off for a few selfies made my fingers numb unlike they have ever been.

There is a restaurant at the top. Food and beverages were above average and the fact that you get a heated restaurant at such height with free WiFi was super.

There is an Ice palace where several carvings were made out of snow. This is on nearly every famous peak in Switzerland. This was our first so we really enjoyed it. Later on seeing the same thing in Titlis and Jungfrau was a bit repetitive.

Final tip :- Make sure you wear shows made to withstand water/snow, if you are going for sightseeing. If going for skiing, you'd anyway be dressed up for it.
