We had a great two night stay in Paradiso (10 minute walk along the lake to Lugano) at the Hotel Admiral. The staff was friendly, and spoke great english at check in as well as when we had any questions! The hotel itself is fairly nice and clean, with a good looking "american breakfast" that we didn't eat -- instead opting for the Munger Cafe around the corner which was recommended by a local. The room was a good size for Europe, and had a nice balcony. We would visit again!

Simply dreadful hotel, old, dated and the rudest staff I have ever come across so I would never go back or advise anyone to stay. Power sockets are so old they don't even fit with European convertors and the reception try to sell you a brand new one that only works in that hotel... don't do it . Manager slammed a new converter on the desk and refused to help or apologise.. Fawlty Towers in Switzerland!!
Avoid !!!

My wife and I stayed at the Admiral for a night to spend our weekend in Lugano. We hoped to get a parking space in the hotel's garage but were out of luck. Turned out that there is a public parking garage behind the hotel. It's more expensive but people with bigger cars (SUVs) should easily get a parking space there.
Hotel was good, rooms are clean and breakfast buffet offered good variety.
Good choice for your trip to Lugano.

We had a family room with an extra bed. The room is spacious. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful.

There is a bus stop in front of the hotel which brings us to town center and Lugano central station.
