Great views on the mountains, clean, light rooms. The staff was friendly and extremely accommodating to all of our requests. Will go back.

We spent the New Year’s Eve in this hotel and we loved it! The receptionist was very friendly and kind. The room was super cute with a balcony which had an amazing view of the mountains. The breakfast was rich and offered delicious local cheese too. Thank you for making our night so lovely! I would like to come again.

Really enjoyed my stay at this quiet and cozy family-owned hotel in Wengen. We had booked a "wonderful" balcony room - the price was fair and the view was as promised, simply wonderful!! The room itself was very clean and a decent size. We sat outside on the balcony much of the time anyway to enjoy those views. Very comfortable beds and duvets. Other furnishings were modest but adequate, and we appreciated the little extras (binoculars, coffee/tea, honor bar in the hallway). Modern bath with large shower cabin. TV has international/UK channels, which was a bonus in the evenings.
Based on the reviews of the hotel restaurant, we booked half-board, which was a good decision for this short trip. The 4-course daily menu (soup, salad, main, dessert) was hearty, good quality and excellent value. If you prefer to leave options open, you can also order a la carte, but then of course, the prices are at normal Swiss standard. We also enjoyed the daily breakfast, which had everything to keep us going for the day.
Two more plus points - friendly staff and the convenient location just a short walk from the station (although keep in mind you have to walk uphill to get into town).
Will be back for sure!!

Food was excellent. Five course meal. Well worth the price of 90 Francs per person. Each course was small but by the end the food was an ample amount and well presented.
Silly hats on offer at the door for the best selfie and a pleasant atmosphere.
A good place to eat. We would return here for New Year’s Eve dinner again.

Stayed here for a week over New Year and so pleased we did. The staff were wonderfully friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
The rooms were simple but very clean and comfortable, especially the beds which let’s face it is very important. We had a “Wonderful “ room (amazing view) with an adjoining “Cool” room which was perfect for a family with kids.
The restaurant is excellent. Breakfast was delicious with lots of homemade jams and a good selection of yoghurts, bread etc. We did not choose the half board option as we wanted to experience other restaurants in the area but at times regretted not doing so. We did book for New Year’s Eve and it was superb. The staff went to so much effort, offering dressing up accessories which was great fun.

We highly recommend Hotel Baren, the staff were all amazing, extremely friendly and very helpful with their recommendations and assistance. The view from the restaurant is simply amazing and the menu excellent.
The breakfast buffet was comprehensive and very fresh.
We also booked a balcony room and to wake up with the view of the mountains is an experience second to none anywhere in the world.
We don’t know when we will visit the Jungfrau region again but when we do we will be sure to visit Hotel Bären.
