We came here in the autumn for my boyfriend's birthday and returned toward the end of January for a three night stay / ski weekend.
Both stays were delightful. The hotel was pretty quiet for obvious reasons which meant that we got very personal service. The staff are all delightful, particularly the ladies that did the dinner service and the young man who greeted us at the station (whose names I've forgotten, but thank you). There is a free (currently on-demand, but not sure how it is in normal times) shuttle to and from the gondola and station. There's also a nice dog.
The food was excellent - definitely go half board, it's an amazing deal. I'm vegetarian and I was well catered for. All 5 courses of each dinner were amazing. Due to coronavirus, they're not running the breakfast buffet at the moment, but you order anything you want the evening before and are welcome to request more on the day. We didn't feel that we were missing out.
My boyfriend actually came here as a child and loved it, which is testament to its timeless charm. We hope to be back soon.More
