Stayed for two nights, and found the hotel to be a great base for exploring Grindelwald and the surrounding area.

On arrival we were offered a choice of rooms as there were spare rooms available. Great views from our room of the mountains. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast. The hotel also has a handy laundry room with washer and dryer.

A very friendly and helpful family run the hotel, and they assisted us in planning our day's hiking. We were also able to buy tickets for the cable car and trains directly from reception. Absolutely stunning scenery throughout our walk.

I highly recommend a stay at this friendly family run hotel. The family that run this hotel make your stay a wonderful holiday. They are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. All of the staff in the hotel are really friendly and efficient. We couldn't find a single fault with any of them. Like a previous review said it really isn't possible to describe how wonderfully hospitable the family is.
The room was cosy with amazing views of the mountains from the balcony. We spent hours just sitting on the balcony looking at the mountains.
The food is also very good. I would definitely recommend the food. It is a set four course dinner but they are happy to change anything on the menu if you don't like it. The food is very well cooked and the sauces the chef made were the best I've ever had.
We stayed for 5 nights but when we go back we intend on staying for longer. The best hotel experience I have ever had.

Room Tip: The ones at the front have amazing mountain views.

We stumbled into the hotel having hiked from Schwarzwaldalp over the pass at Grosse Scheidegg and were very warmly welcomed by the owners' son. Our spacious room had a spectacular view of the mountains and a small balcony to enjoy it from. The owners could not have been more helpful suggesting things to do on a rainy day and recommending a cobbler to take care of my much needed, but failing, hiking boots. Dinner was excellent and the breakfast cold buffet had everything you could want. Be sure to go to the small museum across the street for an introduction to the history and culture of the region as well as very interesting videos of Eiger climbers.

Gabriella and Gearhardt do a wonderful job as 4th generation owners of this fantastic 115 year old Bed and Breakfast Hotel. The views are stunning, especially from Room 37. The rooms are also very well kept and spacious. They are more than accommodating and consistently go out of their way to take care of you.

Room Tip: Room 37 has a great view on two sides.

It is not possible to adequately describe how wonderfully hospitable the family is that runs this hotel. We stayed three nights in September 2015 while we enjoyed the local sites. From the pickup the owner did at the train station for our party of twelve to their willingness to help us with any request to their sharing the history of the hotel and their family, I have never had a better experience in a vacation stay. Grindelwald is a unique experience and I can just hope we have a similar hotel experience in another time and place. I doubt this will happen, however.
