It is quite near the train station about 6-7 minutes walk. We were lucky as we got upgraded to a mountain view in room 202. The view was fantastic! We had a balcony that we could watch the sunset, which was incredibly beautiful that day.
No compliant about the room or toilet except they don't provide bedroom slippers and shower cap.
Food served in the restaurant was decent quality and price on Swiss cost of living.
Receptionist were all helpful in booking our tickets up to Jungfrau. We were happy with the stay!

Our first stay at this hotel although we have visited Grindelwald for 25 years as a family

This is a family run hotel in the beautiful town of Grindelwald. It is an older building and style, centrally located on the Main Street about 5-10 minutes walk from both the Station and First gondola

The hotel contains a half board restaurant, Mercato (Italian) restaurant, Espresso Bar (daily open late) and Mescalero disco (late but limited days). There is a lounge but it was not widely in use by guests and to us seemed a bit cramped if you'd wanted to use it.

Our room overlooked the famous Eiger North Face and I've attached a view from the Balcony. The balcony had a sun blind which was good and also watertight enabling us to use it on rainy days (crazy this may sound)

Our junior suite had a comfortable lounge area and twin beds pushed together. The mattresses were comfortable.

Our bathroom was fine but we did have some initial hot water issues with the shower. The mixer was replaced on day 3 and all fine after that.

We elected for B & B and breakfast was the normal continental breakfast.

We have used the Espresso bar for many years. It's a lively "village" bar with a good crew. Nice terrace for warm days

We didn't use the other restaurants

This is a family run hotel and our sense was that economically it has been tough for the past few years. Perhaps that means some service has to be trimmed but the front office could be a bit inattentive or appear unwelcoming when manned. Ensuring that the balcony window boxes were dead headed and watered another example.

We had a nice relaxing stay and it was good value for money for the junior suite. Our son had the next notch down and that was very good too.

Just spent 4 nights here, and enjoyed the whole stay. Staff were friendly, the receptionist on arrival not to friendly but told us what we needed to know, but without a smile.
We stayed half board and found more than enough choice at breakfast, and the evening meals very tasty and very filling.
We paid extra for an eiger view, to wake up to that worth every penny, and so was quiet away from the road. The room was clean. The night porter solved a problem for us in a quick and friendly manner.
We enjoyed our stay, and this hotel is central to the village. Definitely try the espresso bar, lively music, and very friendly bar man, worth a drink or two in there. Also we ate in the memory bistros across the road, had a delicious rosti, not cheap but nice place.
I would recommend this hotel, lovely stay.

Room Tip: Pay extra for an either view, very quiet

I imagine this hotel falls right in the middle of all Grindelwald hotels in overall terms. Rooms are basic. Ours was over the street, and the street noise was considerable - especially when late-night revelers exited the club across the street. Breakfast is good, not great. Staff was sometimes hard to find, but they were helpful. There is a nice spa in the basement with hot tub, steam room, sauna, ice room. Massages are available.
