This beautiful museum is housed in a building from the early 20th Century and expands over four floors. As might be expected from a luxury watch brand, the museum is elegant and plush and has over 2000 extraordinary pieces on display dating as far back as 1540.

For watch lovers, as expected, there is a very impressive collection of Patek Philippe watches, including watches enjoyed by royalty from Queen Victoria to the King of Siam. There is also a lot of information on some of the most complicated watches in the world.

I would really recommend following the guided tour to make the most of this museum. During the tour, the guide not only points out exceptional timepieces providing details on some of the most beautiful creations, but also explains the history of Swiss watchmaking and the history of Patek Philippe. I highly recommend a visit to get a glimpse into this world of exceptional craftsmanship. During the week there are two watchmakers working behind glass, taking care of recent museum purchases.

Be aware of the opening hours 2-6 pm only. 3 floors of exquisite watches, clocks, Jewellery that you can drool over. No photos are allowed and you need to check in all bags, phones, jackets into lockers that require 2 CF coin which you will get back . Start at the video of the founders' history then move to 3 rd floor. There is a video of the bird at the end of a pistol and the mechanism for the singing bird! Will need at least 1.5 hr to at least glance at each watch. You can go to the museum of ethnography which is at the next street.

I only had 2 hours to spare on a business trip and I wanted to drop by. I am happy with what was displayed, very beautiful and ancient time pieces. A must see if you're into watches.

If you’re a watch connoisseur definitely make time to visit. We had a museum guide walk us round and their knowledge is incredible. The pieces on display are absolutely beautiful and exquisite and, there are so very many! Don’t however, visit on a warm day as there didn’t appear to be any air conditioning and it was uncomfortably hot.
