Positives: very Central, good breakfast, Great view in the breakfast room,

Negatives: small rooms, rather loud, could be cleaner.

In General an ok place to stay if all you want is a place to sleep and eat breakfast

Good quirky hotel, reasonably priced for gva and in a perfect location.

It is in front of the station, near the lake, close to the taxis.

Couldn't be better.

Rooms were clean, nice bath, breakfast could be improved with warm food.

All in all a good choice

As people who have been to (or live in) Geneva say, everything can be considered expensive in Geneva.

Hotel Cristal Design is no exception, but I find the 3-star hotel commendable. Its location is simply unbeatable - it is a short walk to Gare Cornavin (love the complimentary UNIRESO transportation card!), Lake Geneva, restaurants, shops and supermarkets.

The room I got was quite small but efficiently planned - just the right space for everything: from bed to closets to safe, working table, chair, toilet and shower.

Temperature was controlled in-room. WiFi was very good - no complaints. My room was on the 7th floor, facing Rue Pradier and beside the stairs leading up to the breakfast room.

Enjoyed the breakfast spread - quality cold cuts, cheeses, yogurt, fruits, breads, juices, coffees (thanks to the coffee machine), cereals, etc.

The reception was manned by 1-2 persons who quickly assisted guests.

Will surely stay here again when I return to Geneva!

We've just come back from a weekend at this hotel and have to say, overall, we really enjoyed it!

The hotel is modern and sleek - our room was on the third floor at the back and was reasonably quiet with no sounds from the road but some from the building but nothing too bad. The bed is comfortable, the pillows a bit floppy but we made it work, the shower was strong and there is a kettle in the room which is great too. Some people have said it is expensive but actually Geneva is just generally expensive, so we found it to be a reasonable cost.

Bathroom: I will say what a lot of other people have said and that is that there is a hole to open the bathroom door instead of a handle and a gap around the edge so if you're going with somebody else, there is barely any privacy when doing your business. Our tip to deal with this was to ensure to bring headphones with you and a phone with songs and use this when the other person needs the bathroom.

Swiss Plugs: A big thing that we had no idea about is that Switzerland does not have the same kind of sockets as other nearby European countries and we did not find this out until we arrived, which caused panic! Luckily, when my husband went to ask the hotel where we could buy one, they were able to lend us one for our weekend, which was really helpful.

Breakfast: The breakfast is a buffet breakfast on the 8th floor and though a little pricey, it is well worth trying at least once because a) the food is of very high quality with lovely Swiss meats and cheeses and b) you can sit right in front of the window, looking out over the mountains, which is a truly stunning and serene way to begin your day! Alternatively there is a Starbucks on the corner of the road and a McDonalds, just around the corner (which works well as a cheapish snack (about 9 Francs per meal).

We also highly recommend the restaurant Les Brasseurs which is across the road (on the same street as the hotel), it does a really tasty fondue (we shared between two and ordered potatoes and meat to go with it).

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back for peace and avoid the 7th Floor (noise from the breakfast room on the 8th early in the day).

Close to train station. Small room but comfortable beds. Poor soundproof and can hear voices from other room.

When we entered the room, there is a used shower cap hanging behind the door. The semi-transparent toilet door has no lock but one big holes where anyone can see thru it. No privacy at all.

Staff are not very friendly. Did not answer my question.
