My husband and I stayed only one night. The location was perfect as we needed to take the train to the airport early the next morning. The bathroom was modern and clean. The bed and room smelled old and dirty. All night we heard people in the elevator, the hall and the room next door. It wasn't a place I would want to stay on vacation.

Room Tip: Pick a room as far from the elevators as possible

I really liked this little hotel. If you're expecting the Intercontinental, book there. If you're looking for a spotlessly clean hotel with a very comfortable bed and great staff in a central location, you have found it. My room was generous for the number of stars, and given that it overlooked Cornavain, it was surprisingly very quiet (could hear occasional sirens but no street noise- I am very sensitive to noise).

The area around Cornavain is unfortunately a pickpockets paradise. I would not walk alone at night. Violent crime is rare, but you'll want to hang on to your wallet just the same.

This Hotel is in my opinion an excellent choice for Geneva as it offers good value for a good price. The rooms have a different design on each flor, but I liked all of them ( i stayed here many times). The bed is comfortable, there is enough space and the rooms are quiet despite the very central location! The breakfast buffet is ok, but small.

The hotel is comfortable and well located, but the apathetic staff ruined the experience. The manageress was an expert t saying "sorry" without accepting responsibility. We came early and asked if we could get the room before 14:00. The man at reception said we could come back at 13:00 and the room would be ready, We came back at 13:30 - the room was not ready and we had to wait another 30 minutes. Also the wireless internet was not working and they initially wanted to charge us Sfr25 for the cable internet. The clerk who tried to help us was rude and eventually ignored us.
When we complained to the man who said the room would be ready, he said the check in time was 14:00 and that''s that.
It is ironic that Switzerland has one of the best hotel schools in the world and a reputation for promptness.

My boyfriend and I spent three nights at the Suisse. This hotel is right across the road from the main train station (Cornavin), on the corner of the pleasant Rue du Mont-Blanc. It's about 15 mins door to door from the airport via train. As with all areas around the main city station, it can be a tad noisy at night but the area isn't half as bad or scary as you would find in other cities. We had a charming, typically Swiss looking Organ Grinder - with cat - playing outside our window every morning so we had no need for an alarm! But the windows are double glazed so it wasn't too bad, and thankfully we had air conditioning too.
The room we were given was one of the cheaper priced rooms (the one with the orange and green curtains on the website). The decor was a little tired, but was clean, tidy and surprisingly spacious for what we paid. The shower over the bath in particular was superb with great pressure and holding a constant temperature. Being on the fifth floor we could just see the top of the Jet d'Eau from our window which was an added bonus.
Breakfast was your typical continental buffet of toast, ham, cheese, cereals, tea, coffee and juices, but what was nice was being able to have our breakfast out on the flower-lined balcony overlooking Cornavin below.
The location was fantastic for eateries and shops, a mix of posh restaurants, watch makers, Starbucks and McDonalds. There's a large underground supermarket on the corner of Rue des Alps (turn right out of the hotel and it's the next road up), very handy for buying lunch things and snacks. Part pedestrianised Rue du Mont Blanc leads you all the way down to the lake and Jet d'Eau so you're right in the heart of Geneva.
