Great spacious apartment with killer views and super comfy beds
all appliances perfect
Dogs and doglady "katherine" downstairs were fine.
The ad for this flat is totally correct, the view of Lake Geneva is amazing and there is a kennel as a first floor neighbor.
The owner is responsive and seems very nice, however we had to cut our stay short by one night as we couldn't deal with the messy state of the flat any longer. It was not the dogs in the kennel (yes, they did smell and were occasionally barking - but we are animal lovers so we weren't perturbed).
Basically, the flat itself needs a good scrubbing. Dust coated everything and half melted candles were on every surface. Signs of previous guests were abundant - including half used products in the shower and repulsive condiments in the fridge. The linens were all apparently air dried so they were stiff and scratchy. Generally the flat was not fresh and not professionally cleaned. We feel pretty bad for having to review this flat so poorly - it has SOOOO much potential! The appliances are nice, the remodel was clearly done well, the view beautiful and the location is quite nice - but we can't recommend this place based on the upkeep. In our opinion, if there's already a huge strike against you (kennel below) then the accommodation needs to be stellar to overcome that disadvantage. Oh well. Good luck guys!
Thank you Philippe for sharing your fabulous apartment during our recent sabbatical in Geneva. The apartment was stylish and comfortable and had everything we could want or need. The views of the lake and Geneva are truly spectacular and there was nothing nicer than returning home from work to look out across the lake from the dinner table. We enjoyed being nestled within the village of Cologny, just steps from the front door to the Lion Dor restaurant and to the Boulangerie. Getting to the city was both simple and a delight, with the bus stopping right nearby, or there was the lovely option of simply walking down the picturesque La Rampe to the lake and along the shore to the city centre. Weekends were a pleasure walking through the nearby history-laden villages. If you don't like dogs, then this might not be the place for you - the neighbours downstairs are lovely, but own a number of dogs which rarely bothered us, but were very friendly. We loved the apartment and the village was perfect for our extended stay. We hope that we can visit again soon!
The apartment is located only a few minutes walk away from the beautiful lakeside. There is plenty of space and a very homely feel to it. The beds were comfy and the views could only be described as breathtaking (especially the one of the lake in the living room/dining room!). Like it states in the description; there is a smell of dogs before you enter the apartment as there are (we counted 8) friendly labradors below but once you enter the apartment itself you wouldn't know they were there. We would certainly recommend staying here, especially if love spending time by the lake as there is an area nearby where you can swim with diving boards amongst other water sporting activities!
