It is a small hotel where you are well welcomed.

Rooms have been refurbished in a modern style. Rooms are however very small and noisy. Hotel offers parking spot and you can walk down very easily

Breakfast is amazing. Plenty of food, very fresh

Hotel La Pergola is a small but very nice hotel with very clean and quiet rooms. It is really convenient to have a nice sleep. Their breakfast is awesome. They provide free public transport cupon where at the nearby there is a tram taking passengers into the center of the city every ten minutes. Receptionists are very hambled but the man receptionist is not as such.

Room tip: all sides seem convenient

We were very pleased with our 6 night stay this small hotel in a quiet residential area with several good restaurants nearby. It is about 10 minute walk to train station, 15 minutes walk to old city, and close to 3 different bus stops, one within 1/2 block of the hotel. Very helpful staff (advice on buses, restaurant suggestions and making dining reservations). We were surprised to find the breakfast included in our room rate - cereals, breads, pastries, cheeses, cold cuts, even cook yourself eggs, and a fancy coffee maker! We had a larger room with an extra twin bed which we used for storage, as there was no closet and little shelf space. Very compact but modern bathroom. No A/C but there was a fan and the windows open.. Electric shutters block out light. We would stay here again!

My room (staying solo) was small, compact but very workable, clean and pleasant. Very modern with a small desk, some hanging space and comfortable bed. Bathroom was small but again very workable. No mini bar (no loss), no air conditioning (not needed for September), not particularly noisy. Good helpful staff, excellent breakfast. Not too far from the centre of town. Don't know the price as it was an inclusive arrangement. Would definitely check its cost and consider staying if visiting Bern again.

Really barebones room for a not- cheap price. No a/c, only one little window to open and a small desktop oscillating fan. When temps are in upper 80s (31C each day we were there), it is a stifling little oven of a room. No fridge or coffee machine. Good 15-20 minute walk to shopping, old town, cathedral. Got free vouchers for the bus but we just walked.
