I really liked this hotel, where we stayed for two nights to visit Bern. The hotel is located in a calm residential neighborhood, 5 - 10 min with tramway to the center. We got free public transport tickets from the hotel for the days we stayed. It was very easy to get to the center, the tram stops in front of the hotel. The room was nice and functional. Maybe a bit ‘old’ in the design, but still a fun design. The shower could have been better, but ok. Great view on the Palais Fédéral and the city. Staff was very nice. We didn’t try the breakfast, there are several cafés where you can get breakfast nearby, a tram-stop or two from the hotel.

This property claims to be more than it really is and charges way beyond its value. On top of it, their location is off center and their service is quite surly.
On my next stay in Berne, I will certainly not return to this place..

The Ambassador Hotel is a typical no-frills hotel. It is located slightly outside the city centre (a good 20min walk), looks a bit tired (80s style) and has little charm.

However, the rooms are clean, the breakfast buffet decent and the service is friendly.

All-in-all a decent pick when in Bern.

Stayed for two nights on a Business trip. Close to city centre with complimentary tram tickets from the hotel, it takes a few minutes only. Rooms were ok, a little small but they had all you needed including coffee making facility. Nice bar onsite that includes a Japanese restaurant. Room rates are expensive.

The Ambassador Hotel is a pleasant hotel located on Trolly #9 so is easy to travel about Bern from there. The rooms are clean and roomy enough. A breakfast buffet is served each morning. This hotel includes a sauna, steam room, exercise area and a pool. Inside the hotel are two restaurants - one is Japanese and the other is International.

Nearby attractions include: The Bundeshaus (the Swiss Parliament); the Bear Pit; and the Gurtenbahn funicular railway that climbs Gurten Mountain to 2,574 feet (858 meters) for an impressive view of Bern and the surrounding towns and mountains. You can even stop part way up to visit the Zoo!
