Getting to Monteverdi is an adventure already. It is a very steep drive, make sure you trust whoever is driving. Once you get to the top of the hill, park to your right and walk the rest of the way. The (really) narrow old streets are not suitable to drive around if you are used to driving in US. The property alone is already worth the visit. Monteverdi is fantastic, and the view is like no other in Tuscany. All staff we met went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great day and lunch. I am glad we went there during the day to enjoy the view, but the sunset is probable breath taking (but I wouldn't drive back down in the dark). The restaurant is really nice, and have two outdoor areas (sit outside!). The food is great. I know it sounds impossibly perfect, but it definitely is. Take your time to get here and get to enjoy an extraordinary meal. On your way back, make sure to stop in La Foce and visit the garden (Il Giardino). You won't regret.
