Very simple, tasty food. Clearly a popular spot with the locals and I always take that as a good sign. We went on a swelteringly hot day and enjoyed the cool wine and a tasty platter of meat and cheese with olives and vegetables at a really reasonable price.

After a days visit of the amazing city of Siena we went for a drink and a bite in the Vineria 'Il Murillo di San Pietro'. We had the red house wine, which is a Chianti Classico and soooo good, you must try it. For our kids we had plenty of aqua naturale and frizzante accompanied with a large dish of prosciutto, salami, cheese, bread, dried tomatoes in very tasty olive oil and fermented little onions; heavenly. We ordered more of the cheese and bread since it tasted really good and an extra glass of wine. To prepare for the one and half hour drive back we had a ristretto which was made to high Italian standards and cane sugar to sweeten and make a candy out of the last few drops in the cup.
Expect to spend what you would pay for a pizza and a drink per person, but so much better taste (there is more on the menu, but we didn't consider and I can't recall neither judge).
Salute and ciao from a satisfied family of five.

Il Murello is a very cozy place. Went there to have some wine, but ended up eating one of their delicious homemade pastas. Service and both food and wine was more than great. Can recommend!

My peposo was pretty decent, but my partner's pasta was overly dry and rather unappetising. There is nowhere to sit outside (only at the door) as it is on a narrow street where cars pass sometimes. The ambience is also spoiled by an ATM right by the door.

Service was average at best. House wine was fine, and the overall price reasonable.
