Got the email address for this B&B from another TripAdvisor as couldn't find a website - now see one at www.sienatur.it so for anyone else who wants to contact them, try it. Very friendly couple operate it, and they have thoughtfully renovated & decorated the old building. We enjoyed staying there.

Alle Du Porte is a charming bed and breakfast right in the heart of old Siena. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the bedroom, bathroom and communal areas were clean, comfortable, quaint and pretty. I would have no hesitation in recommending this to anyone.

Alle Due Porte was, without a doubt, our favorite place to stay on our trip through Italy. It was also one of the least expensive. It is in the walls of the old city, a short walk to the Duomo, and only slightly longer to the Piazza del Campo. The owners, Egisto and Lauredonna, are very very sweet and welcomed us as if we were family. The room itself was beautifully decorated with antique furniture, and truly felt Sienese. The bed was very comfortable, linens were all of good quality, and the breakfast! Oh the breakfast! They had a nice spread of pastries and juices, as well as grilled "toast" (ham and cheese sandwiches), and they were constantly offering more of their delicious cappuccinos. We had a wonderful stay at Alle Due Porte. I definitely plan to come back, and would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Delightful little B&B in an old well renovated building a few minutes walk from just about everything in Siena. Our room was large and well furnished - despite looking out onto the street & the B&B being so central, it was very quiet. An extensive breakfast set us up for the day. However what really sets this B&B apart is the genuine hospitality of the hosts and owners - nothing is too much trouble. Siena is a wonderful town to visit but the memories our experience will be all the warmer for staying here.

A tip re the parking from Egisto - drive in through Porta San Marco, turn immediately left & drive past the Duomo Parking (which costs a fortune as does the Il Campo Parking), turn next left out through Porta Laterina and then through a gateway first on the left. There was plenty of free and as Egisto charmingly puts it, "tranquil" parking . It is about 7 minutes walk back to Alle Due Porte, if that.

Restaurant tip - Hosteria Il Carroccio on Via Casato di sotto which leads off Piazza del Campo.

Just came back from Siena after spending an incredible two nights at Laurie Donna and Egisto's wonderful B&B Alle Due Porte.
We weren't sure of our exact arrival time so Egisto provided his cell phone number so we could call when we arrived at the train station. Laurie Donna & Egisto met us at the B&B and Egisto immediately carried our luggage to our room for us while Laurie Donna made us heavenly cappuccinos and offered us biscuits and other goodies to warm us.
There are 3 very, very spacious and beautiful rooms, all with half-timbered ceilings and ensuite private baths. One room has 2 twin beds and the other 2 rooms have REAL king size, wrought iron beds (not just 2 beds pushed together but one real KING size bed!). The bedding was very fine quality Italian linens with an elegant bedspread with beautiful sheer drapes. The walls were painted in warm Tuscan soothing colors. There were extra pillows and blankets in the very large double armoire that held all of our clothes. There was a TV with Italian & English channels, a large cedar chest, night stands and tile floors. The room had it's own thermostat so we were very cozy. Everything was thoughtfully and beautifully decorated by Laurie Donna.

The bathroom was sparkling clean and newly remodeled with a shower (with shower curtain) that was a step up (medium height step). The bathroom also had a bidet, toilet, pedestal sink, ceiling light and fan and extra large thick white fluffy towels with a warming towel rack. It just doesn't get any better than this in Italy.

Egisto and Laurie Donna prepared cappuccinos every morning and there was fresh, crusty Tuscan sliced bread, fresh Italian prosciutto, butter, quality jams, honey, packages of cheese, Italian cakes, biscuits, muslei, corn flakes, toast, juice, fruit and other tasty goodies.

Egisto and Laurie Donna are gracious hosts who make you feel right at home and they spent considerable time showing us on the map how to reach the various places we wanted to see. They also arranged for a taxi to take us to the bus station and made sure the taxi driver knew where we wanted to go. We loved our stay in Siena mainly because of our stay at B&B Alle Due Porte especially the warm hospitality of Laurie Donna and Egisto!
