The staff at Hotel Sovestro are exceptional. Every person (including every member of the cleaning staff) we came accross were genuinely friendly and helpful; communication was no issue even with very limited English spoken because of the pleasant way in which queries were dealt with. The shuttle between the hotel and the town was excellent and we used it every day rather than pay for parking. Breakfast was great, if like me, you love cheeses, meats, bread and lots of coffee. My other half ate home made cakes, pastries and drank hot chocolate every morning. The local honey with prunes was also delicious. The Ristorante Da Pode was fantastic!! We ate there every evening and for our last lunch in the hotel (except Thursday when they were closed) the pasta was the best I've eaten anywhere; particularly the bacon and saffron dish. The hotel itself was immaculately clean and tidy, the rooms were comfortable and ours was large with a beautiful view from the balcony. My only tiny criticism is that our room (51) was right next to the lift and the cleaners storage cupboard so from 8am there was quite a lot of noise and activity outside our door.

We felt very well looked after and would recommend a stay here to anyone.

Grazie mille per un meraviglioso soggiorno all'Hotel Sovestro!

We stayed here this summer for the second time. Can't fault it in any way. The rooms are excellent, breakfast scrummy, pool is great for all the family, clean, friendly staff etc etc.

We tried the restaurant out and it was really nice.

There is a decent walk to get to the town up a hill which might not be great for some people but it's perfect for walking off all that Italian food in my opinion.

Fully agree with recent reviews by Markhoni and Jean B. The hotel is a short 20 min walk via a back road to San Gimingnano. Restaurant Pode which is attached to the hotel served excellent food, we ate there twice and the service and presentation of the food was exemplary. Owners were very helpful in providing everything we wanted. The pool was amazing, crystal clear and clean, Great parking as well

Stayed here 3 nights. Excellent welcome and very helpful staff at reception. It's more like a 4 star. Spotless spacious rooms. A lovely walk to San Gimignano via back road in daylight. About 20 mins gentle uphill with great views of the towers. Good breakfast and meal in the Restaurant la Pode. Recommend it for a stay in the sea and visiting Chianti and Siena.

Thank you Hotel Sovestro for another wonderful stay. The pool is immaculately clean and a pleasure to swim in. The small pool is also good for cooling off when the bigger pool is more full in the afternoons; it's great to have two venues for relaxation. The breakfasts are a joy with a wide choice of fruit, meat, pastries, bread and cheese, not to mention the usual cereals and juices. The breakfast patio is also an asset with views of the cypresses and the surrounding countryside. My son and his family used the restaurant and it is handy to have that to eat in, although San Gimignano is walking distance up a track which offers lots of places to eat of varying prices. There are spectacular views of the towers all the way along the track and if you're lucky you'll hear nightingales singing in the trees. The family who run the hotel are also lovely and help you with anything you need. We will be there again. This was our third visit.

Room Tip: Rooms are clean and comfortable. The ground floor has big terraces.
