We had a lovely stay here, the property was very well kept and the views gorgeous. We especially enjoyed having breakfast on their patio every morning, overlooking the beautiful grounds. Both of the owners were very sweet and friendly, as well as the rest of the staff. They allowed us to relax by the pool the rest of the day after checking out, as we had a later train. Truly a relaxing place to stay in Tuscany.

With this hotel I am going to go through each thing I found incredible:

This is not a B&B, it is at least a 3 star hotel

SERVICE: spotless, Lucca received us even if we didnt manage to get a reservation, and the check in tume had already passed; he even picked us up at the bus station and the next day took us to rent a car.

BREAFFAST: to die for, plenty of options, and they spoil you, they ask you how you want your eggs, bread and everything else is fresh.

ROOMS: our room had the perfect temperature, the bed was comfortable, and it has got blinds, so try not to oversleep.
The has tv, phine, hair dryer, security box, 2 night stands, and theyr are spacious.

TECHNOLOGY: it has got real wi-fi, solar panels for heating the water, the lights go off when you shut rhe door.

LOCATION: it is located between Ponggibonsi and San Gimigiani, there is a local restaurant/ osteria/bar just off the road, with very friendly staff.

GETTING THERE: better if you got your own transportation, otherwise can be a bit tricky, but not impossible.

It has got beautiful gardens, and, OMG, the views!!! Not to mention the energy there, u dont want to leave.

We are very sad we had to leave!

PRICE: you definetively get wayyy more, tahn what you pay for.

I really want ti go back, and take all my familly there.

Let me start with saying the of all Tuscany I would always choose to stay close to San Gimignano and travel Tuscany with a car from there as a home base. SG is by far the most quaint with more to do than any of the small villages we visited during our three days in Tuscany. I will definitely go back and choose to stay close to it, with its great restaurants, shops and old-little-village feeling.

Molino di foci sported three things that made it a great hotel for our trip: (1) Heidi the owner is SUPER nice and helpful, and gave us many tips on what to visit and see. (2) The place is stunning, with modern furnishing in this older house they renovated. We had a great night’s sleep and luxurious showers with L’Occitane products provided by the place, and we enjoyed free Wi-Fi throughout. (3) Finally, while only 5K from San Gimignano, MDF is nestled between fields and hills that give it a remote feeling, with quiet nights and countryside feeling to it.

It is also affordable, especially for what you get.

Caveats for my review: This was my first time to Tuscany’s countryside, so I have limited experience.

Room Tip: Check out restaurants in San Gimignano. Cum Quibus and Chiribiri especially
