Let me start with saying the of all Tuscany I would always choose to stay close to San Gimignano and travel Tuscany with a car from there as a home base. SG is by far the most quaint with more to do than any of the small villages we visited during our three days in Tuscany. I will definitely go back and choose to stay close to it, with its great restaurants, shops and old-little-village feeling.
Molino di foci sported three things that made it a great hotel for our trip: (1) Heidi the owner is SUPER nice and helpful, and gave us many tips on what to visit and see. (2) The place is stunning, with modern furnishing in this older house they renovated. We had a great night’s sleep and luxurious showers with L’Occitane products provided by the place, and we enjoyed free Wi-Fi throughout. (3) Finally, while only 5K from San Gimignano, MDF is nestled between fields and hills that give it a remote feeling, with quiet nights and countryside feeling to it.
It is also affordable, especially for what you get.
Caveats for my review: This was my first time to Tuscany’s countryside, so I have limited experience.More
