Apartment was in a great location just less than 10 minutes to the tower on foot and near to everything you would want to visit. Plenty of restaurants, cafes, and small supermarkets at hand. On a square with trees and grass, the apartment was extremely luminous and spacious. Very clean and everything you need. We were very comfortable and at home. We were met by Tea, the lady who cleans the apartment who was very friendly and really helpful. Ida the owner was extremely accommodating and replied to our questions very quickly. We were able to check in early and leave our luggage and when we checked out we left our bags to collect later. Many thanks Ida for letting us use your apartment.
It was everything I expected and more. The owner was lovely and helpful The location cant be beat! We were 4 ladies traveling alone and we felt safe the entire time we were here. It is literally a hop skip and jump from the tower, amazing restaurants and the train. Everything you want and more. I wish all our places were this good!
The apartment is excellently located and we really enjoyed our stay. The owner is very responsive including when the power cut in the apartment due to a fuse switch in the entrance hall outside the apartment. The wireless internet is a nice touch and generally the apartment is to a good modern standard. We would highly recommend the apartment to others with a few words of advice:
1. The owner should invest in extra sofas. The apartment sleeps 6 (we were 5 plus baby) but there is only sofa space for 2 people despite there being plenty of space. There are enough chairs for the dinning area.
2. The owner should invest in a kettle, we boiled water in a sauce pan.
3. The owner should ask the client in advance what their sleeping arrangements are. The apartment sleeps 6 and we paid for 5 people hence it is partly understandable but we were only provided bed linen for a double and 3 singles meaning the owner assumed only 4 beds would be needed and 2 people would share. Due to our sleeping arrangements our daughter had no bed linen which was a minor issue but could easily be solved if the owner had consulted us in advance. At the price paid providing extra bed linen should be expected.
5. The owner needs to be clear on check out time. We needed to leave at 1 pm and asked to leave our bags outside the apartment in the secure entrance area from 11 am. After a lot of back and forth it was agreed we would keep our bags inside the apartment until 12.30 when the new tenants were arriving. In reality the cleaner (who speaks no English) arrived at 11 am and expected us to vacate the apartment immediately. We kept our bags in the entrance area as agreed but the new guests did not arrive at 12.30 and the cleaner left meaning we had no access to the apartment building to pick our suitcases. Luckily the owner of the apartment above who we had met during our stay was kind enough to let us in to the building to access our luggage and ensure we did not miss our flight.
The first thing I noticed when booking this apartment (which i did based on TripAdvisor reviews), was the friendliness, efficiency and helpfulness of the owner, Ida. It was very reassuring knowing that Ida was on hand at the end of the phone or email to answer questions when travelling to a new city with family in tow.
This three bedroom apartment is spacious and cool. The wooden floors, cool white walls and, most importantly, efficient air-conditioning were just what we needed whilst visiting a very hot Pisa in late August. The apartment was very clean.
The views over the Piazza are lovely and there are two excellent restaurants and several cafes on the piazza. If you venture down the windy side streets (like Lucy Honeychurch without her Baedeker!) you'll find bakeries (fantastic), fruit stalls, mini-markets, and gorgeous entoteca and a handy hardware shop.
Because of all the good things on the doorstep, there is a little night-time liveliness, but we didn't really mind that. The apartment is minutes away from Piazza Dei Cavalieri, the Tower (which was fantastic to ascend) and a myriad of restaurants. It's also close to the Arno, the bridge to cross over to Corsa Italia with all its chic shops and cafes and of course, the railway station. The trains were well air-conditioned and efficient on our trips to Viareggio for the beach and the gorgeous town of Lucca.
A great spot for a sundowner is the rooftop bar at the Grand Duomo Hotel (splendid views of the top of the tower and the Tuscan rooftops). Another is the Royal Victoria Hotel on the river. It has old world, Grand Tour, Victorian charm (Lucy Honeychurch in A Room with a View springs to mind, again). The rooftop terrace is tranquil and sun kissed in the evenings. Don't forget to order your drinks in reception and don't eat all the pistachios before they arrive.
The apartment was such a delight to come home to after hours in the heat. Perfect for cooling off, re-grouping and venturing out again.
Thank you, Ida.

We booked this apartment as it had 3 bedrooms with the idea that we could choose the quietest bedrooms, as we knew apartment was next door to a busy restaurant and in a popular Piazza where people gathered late into the night. On arrival we found that only two beds had been made up?. We paid the full price of 838 euros for a 4 night stay at the apartment that slept 6 and it was never suggested that we get a discount as there is only 2 of us. Why the owner thinks she can decide for us which beds we slept in is beyond my comprehension and a blooming cheek. There was only towels enough for 2 left on the beds, when we could have done with some fresh ones during our stay and had certainly paid the price for that too. As it happens we were kept awake into the early hours on the first night and had to remake one of the other beds in a quieter room at 3 a.m. As a suggestion to any couple booking this apartment is to say there is 6 of you.
