“Great house in amazing location”

This house is simply amazing! It was even better than the pictures. Great pool area with 8 proper sun beds and a small table with chairs for the late night drink. Amazing bbq and pizza oven facilities, both bedrooms were spacious and comfortable beds with a balcony and view over Pisa. Dining table on the front with a great view and with a small roof and curtains around to block sun out during lunch and created a nice cozy feeling in the evening.

Luisa and her husband where very helpful and nice in all ways without being intrusive. Great tips for restaurants and places to go, beds made up when we came, a cold bottle of beer/wine prepared when we arrived. Cleaning included and in general just nice people. We are already thinking about going back as it was perfect for us when traveling with couples and friends.

We where 5 people (all around 30 years old) during the week but could have been 6 without it being tight with space. Location is great but car is absolutely necessary. 20 min to Pisa town, 30-40 min to the coast, Cinque Terre 2 hours away, under an hour to Florence.

So I would recommend it to anyone - families or groups of friends. It suits everyone!

“Idyllic villa with pool close to PIsa”
Reviewed 18 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

We are a family with four children and had plenty of room to relax. One bedroom has 3 single beds and the downstairs sitting room had a sofa bed. The villa is up on the hillside with stunning views of the area. Our kids shared the pool with the other family in the adjoining property. The pool area is lovely and the pool was a godsend in the summer heat. The owners provided a fan for each room. You can eat inside or al fresco. We even cooked pizza in the woodfire pizza oven with fantastic results. Pisa is 20 mins drive (once you know the way) and Lucca is 20 mins in the other direction where you can hire cycles and cycle wound the walled town. Florence is best reached by train. We even managed to drive our 9 seater van up the hair pin bend driveway up to the property everyday. The owners are just next door of you have any needs or questions. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.

“A real Italian experience”

We have just returned from a very relaxing 2 week stay at La Lucertola. Hosts, Luisa, Colin and Max were so welcoming and friendly and were on hand next door at the farmhouse if we needed anything. We found the villa to be very well equipped for all our needs and the fridge was ready stocked with a selection of drinks which was a nice touch. The pool was just bliss to cool off as there was a heatwave during our stay. The villa is nestled upon a steep hill. The road is rather daunting at first, but the trade off is the magnificent view over Pisa and surrounding countryside. We took a few trips out to nearby Pisa and Lucca, and also to Pistoia, Montecatnini Terme and Viareggio. It's also well worth making the trip to Florence by taking the train from nearby San Giuliano Terme (approx 1.5 hrs).
Many evenings were spent eating outside on the terrace, cooking on the BBQ (and pizza oven) and watching the sun setting over Pisa.
We would definitely recommend you experience the option for "In house dining". We chose the fish banquet which was simply stunning, freshly caught that morning. Served with wonderful wines, dessert and coffee. A perfect end to a wonderful holiday!

“Outstanding view”
Reviewed 16 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We spent 7 days in this property and this is what we found:
Pros: It is a modest and cute country house. Its owners are very kind and helpful. The property came with a proper pizza oven that is fantastic. The swimming pool is good and it, like the rest of the property, has an outstanding view. We reserved the "Italian food experience"; if you can afford it, do not miss it, it is wonderful. The nearby beach was beautiful and cool.

Cons: Accessing the property is a challenge, it is a steeped, curved, and the gravel road makes driving difficult. Sadly, during the week we spent there the Wi-Fi was not available. The beds of the second room need to be replaced.

“Amazing”
Reviewed 19 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We all had the most amazing time here, with the beautiful view, spacious house, pizza oven and the most amazing thing was the pool!

We explored the area visited pisa, Luca and Florence but my favourite thing to do was go into the pool with the family then enjoy a nice Italian mean outside with the view and a glass of wine.

Would recommend this place to anyone and Luisa and Colin are so nice and helpful.

The only thing that was difficult was the drive up to the house, the road is very steep and bendy.

But totally worth it.
