Every aspect of our stay here was wonderful. We were seven family members and we stayed here in the last week of October 2014 - we made it our base for day trips throughout Tuscany (and the Cinque Terre). The apartment's layout is a delight, with some larger spaces for everyone to gather in, ample bedrooms, some smaller spaces for a little privacy, and, of course, the balconies. The views from the balconies and the tower were stunning. A few times, we took breakfast up the fascinating passageways to the patio atop the tower, and ate and sipped coffee overlooking the beautiful rooftops while the city awakened. It was also wonderful to simply step out the door and immediately be immersed in the bustle of old Lucca. We took the bus to Pisa and the train to Florence, all within walking distance, but we fell in love with Lucca and ended up spending a few days just exploring, shopping, and eating our way through the historical center.
The booking and pre-trip planning was handled superbly by James, who provided a ton of guidance on how to arrive and what to do once there. James went the extra mile for me, answering specific questions and keeping us informed about events in Lucca that would occur during our stay. On-site, Marina met us at the apartment and she was so pleasant and very welcoming. She was fantastic at helping us get settled in - she even shuttled two of us to our parked cars to retrieve our luggage more easily.
This apartment surpassed our expectations - it was the foundation of a family vacation that we will always remember. If you are looking for a home base in northern Tuscany for a larger family or group, something special, this is it. I give it the highest recommendation.

We just celebrated our 35th anniversary with a trip to Italy. My husband had fallen in love with Lucca and the avenue on the walls several years earlier. Nothing could have prepared us for the views from the apartment. Marina welcomed us and made sure we were comfortable. She gave us a map and laid out the town for us. We ate dinner the first night from the top of the tower and felt like we owned the city. We could walk out the door, turn a corner and find quiet streets with neighborhood Trattorias, small grocery stores, bakeries, and cathedrals to explore. The train station is an easy 20 minute walk. We made day trips to Florence, Cinque Terra and hiking in the mountains. We always felt glad to get home and chill out in our Lucca abode. James, who manages the apartment, came by to make sure we were settled in. He had great tips on what to see in the area and we were glad we foowed his advice. The free evening opera concert is not to be missed. We were charmed by Lucca and look forward to bringing our family back with us!
We knew our apartment would be good but jaw dropping we were not expecting. DO NOT PASS up staying here. Elegant, old world, luxurious with views everywhere. Although you are in the middle of Lucca once you go through those doors its heaven. We hope to return again and again.
We stayed in this lovely apartment in the historical center of Lucca with our extended family (three adults, one college student, three tweens). The apartment is beautiful and very well-appointed. Views are amazing, and you step right out the door into the heart of historical Lucca. Marina is the most gracious hostess -- kind, accessible, and with great recommendations. Highly recommended; would definitely stay here again. A true gem!

Absolutely loved it. It's not the cheapest place in town but if you like comfort and fantastic views (from your own tower), it is definitely the place to be.
