This is a great B&B of you want to visit Lucca. First of all the location is excellent, just outside the walls of the old town. As you cannot really drive into the city center, it's perfectly located: you can park your car at the B&B and all the sights are within walking distance.
The owner was very friendly and welcoming, gave us advice for restaurants (even a restaurant which gave us a discount because she had sent us), we could use bikes to cycle around town,...
The room was spacious and clean, and wifi worked perfectly.
The only thing we regret is that we only spent one night here.

We stayed with Marina and her daughter Rita for 3 nights and it was a fantastic experience. First of all her property is in the best possible location: just outside the wall so we could park our car on their property, and an easy 5 minute walk in to the old town. We had a suite with a separate sitting room which was very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and server whenever we wanted.
Marina and Rita were very attentive and welcoming hosts. We highly recommend Il Giardino del Pettirosso.

I chose Lucca to be my first destination for my 3 weeks' holiday in Italy and this was my choice of hotel to recuperate from my transatlantic flight! The place was clean and peaceful and well-run. It was located just outside the city wall 5 minutes from the bus terminal and the TI in Piazzale Verdi. They served a good breakfast especially if you have a sweet tooth! On my last day there, the charming owner brought an apple cake and urged me to try. I was glad I did! The only shortcoming was it was a bit far from all the going-ons near Piazza Anfiteatro. Not that it wasn't of walkable distance but after a couple glasses of wine, one could easily get lost on his/her way home!

We spent 1 night at Marina's B&B! FIRST of all she was soooo Adorable, friendly and welcoming. That we instantly felt at home. She really cares about the wellbeing of her guests. She took time to talk to us, to suggest things. She helped us organize a cooking class in Lucca that was out of his world. The house is very charming. Not the most luxurious, the bathroom is a bit small, but honestly we didn't care cause all the rest was perfect! Good job for the good work Marina. We will definitely send you people and come back!

Il Giardino del Pettirosso is a delightful B&B located just 5/10 minutes walk from the beautiful walled city of Lucca. If it was possible to rate it 11 out of 10 we would. It is owned and run by Marina, who couldn't have been more helpful or pleasant. She was ably assisted by Greta. The B&B itself is clean, and well decorated, with thoughtful little touches, such as colourful blankets on the chairs in the communal sitting/breakfast room, books and CD's that guests are at liberty to use, and plenty of tea and coffee so guests can help themselves whenever they wish. The beds are really comfortable, and the area is quiet and peaceful, so a good night's sleep is guaranteed. Breakfast was varied and plentiful, and Greta makes the most delicious cappuccinos. There is a garden, with pleasant area to sit, and bicycles are left for guests to use if they wish. Marina is a wonderful hostess, who genuinely enjoys welcoming her guests, and we can't wait for our next visit!
