Description: Antica Locanda Di Sesto is a restaurant located on the right side of the Serchio River,in the outskirts of Lucca. The Building dates back to the 1368, as the marble stone in front of the restaurant says, a period when the local merchants started to build their own country estates, used to relax and chill out in the summer but also to gain business profits. From the XIV Century the village of Sesto was property of the "De Nobili" Family and they had, according to various rumors, 101 farmers working only for them in the village. It is thanks to this powerful family that the "Locanda" was built, and even now you can see the remains of the old building inside the restaurant. *We now offer a free shuttle service from Lucca town centre*

What a fantastic place to enjoy Dinner ,Location, Kitchen, Service, all fit in one word, perfect.
.
This restaurant is family owned for over 200 hunderd Years and vibes the Tuscan air, pleasant and relaxing.

Try the spaghettoni al guanciale, goes al dente in a big Sheep cheese bowl, stir with some crispy pork and put a on warm plate, a taste explosion, in what seems a simple recepy, less is more.

The starter, being antipasto misto della case, is somthing to be proud of as kitchen chef, a large selection of Tuscan goodies, it made my day.

Next time around, I will rush back, can`t wait, well thinking about that, It`s a great excuse to go soon.

Keep this Gem for yourself please.

Incredible place. Throws you off a bit as it's in the middle of nowhere. And there's nothing else around. We stayed within the walls and took a cab here. It was about 24 Euro to get there. The house wine was wonderful! And of course had to go with the steak and pasta in the cheese wheel. Everything was loverly. The only thing I would say is that we always had to stop someone and ask for another glass of wine. Make a reservation!! It opens right at 8pm.

We joined a business supplier for lunch at this wonderful little off the beaten path restaurant. Could not have asked for a nicer venue, staff, or experience. Located in this spot since the 12th Century, this place abounds in history and they embrace it. They make there own wine and there own olive oil to go along with the fresh market food served. Our host immediately ordered the house Chianti that is served in a great Fiasco Bottle that has been recycled many times. And, let me not fail to say that it was very good as well. Our meal began with Antipasta that was a combination of cheese, meat, and spreads. All of these various items were very good. That was followed with what I would consider the highlight of the meal, the pasta prepared table side in a Pecorino Round. Finally, as if I needed more food, they served the specialty of the house, Steak Fiorentina, which was also excellent. Yes, we had dessert, but that was an afterthought. We left with a bottle of wine and a bottle of olive oil to take home. Could not have asked for much more in a meal that left us feeling as if we had visited old Italy.

About 12 minutes from the Lucca walls, this gem is an historic site. The building was constructed in 1368 and had various purposes. The menu is diverse, the wine very good and the service superb. Order the pasta served from a wheel of parmigiana but be aware it has a significant amount of bacon fat in it. Antipasto is excellent.
