By far, this gelateria, which serves artisanal gelato, is the best we have had in our trip. It has a great value for money, delivering big, delicious scoops for a decent price. It has an interesting array of flavors, fruit-gelato desserts, and other gelato-based desserts. We truly enjoyed its chocolate-based flavors. The staff that served us were all friendly, accommodating, and fast. Worth a visit even when the weather is cold.
After diligent research and consulting a local expert, I offer my view that this is the best gelato in town, despite strong competition (such as Cantina de Gelato). The quality is outstanding, there's a wide range of flavours including some tasty inventive ones like chestnut. The service is charming. The location is a bit of a trek, on the east side of the city centre, about 20 minutes' walk from the Duomo, but they're interesting streets!
After all day walking around beautiful Florence I stopped at Gelateria de' Medici for the best gelato I've ever had! There is no more Gorgonzola flavour (their famous so far) so I chose Mascarpone/ Ricotta e pere! Out of this world...!
Everything's pretty easy to walk to in Florence, so make it your business to stop by this gelateria for one of the best gelatis you will have ever experienced, and their gelato-filled fruit are a wonder to behold!
