that was really a good experience to stay in this cosy, small guesthouse full of comfort and friendly atmosphere. The location is just great to find yourself in the city center, surrounded good restaurants and shops. My room was so much artistic that I could felt the breath of Florence while staying. Thank you very much for the nice service you provided and the assistance to book tickets for museums and exhibitions.

Room Tip: choose the room with the paining on the ceiling

Mr. Lopresti and the La Luna Guesthouse are most enchanting. Mr. Lopresti as host, exudes all the best qualities of an innkeeper - care and attention to each of his guests and love of the city he has the singular opportunity to introduce to us. Florence, ah, Florence that Renaissance museum of a city, that thrills our souls. There is no instance that Mr. Lopresti does not give full attention to detail, to introduce us to the best routes on foot to see his beloved city, the first introduction through sight seeing bus tours, finest repast establishments. Then, we are sufficiently secure to embrace Florence as our own.

I had the great privilege to stay in the room with the beautiful fresco on the ceiling to gaze upon.

I wish the La Luna Guest House many years of welcoming travelers and then converting them to lovers of Florence, and feel that great city is our home too.

Recommend this! Definitely, want to come back!

I was on a 10 day trip to Italy with family and picked this place for our stay in Florence. We spent totally 4 nights in Florence at La Luna. And it was a real good experience at this BB.

We booked this BB since it is pretty near the SMN station, about 8 min walk, and close to the river bank where you can start to explore the city by walking a long the road from Lugarno Vespucci. The arch was actually the landmark that we could easily spot to locate La Luna. However, the building where La Luna resides was a bit difficult to find, since the numbering system was messed up (I saw both old and new numbers on each house which can be confusing). I called the owner, Riccardo, and he came out to take us up. To put it right, La Luna is about 150 meters away from the beginning of Via del Ponte alle Mosse. The guest house on the second floor of the building numbered 15.

Anyway, he helped us with the stuff, and guided us to a pretty nice room. I was surprised about the bathroom as they usually are small (even the studio apartment we stayed in Rome has a very tiny little bathroom where you could hardly fit in). Riccardo did the check-in procedure and started to introduce us about "Firenze", which we should see, and where we should go. He also recommended some restaurants which were not very far from where we stayed. I must add, there is also a very nice Chinese restaurant which is one door from the bar at the corner of Ponte alle Mosse. Many Italians eat there. Riccardo was so helpful in arranging reservations for us to Uffizi gallery and Academy gallery. We really enjoyed that.

We stayed here three nights, did explore the city, galleries, cathedrals. We also spent one day to on an excursion to Pisa/Sienna/San Gigminano on a one day tour. Then we rent a car (from Avis) to go down South of Florence for two nights. We left part of our luggage at Riccardo's and went back for one more night at La Luna before coming back to Rome.

Over all, the place is nice and clean, very quiet, you have your own set of keys to come and go as you wish like home; helpful owner, and his friend too :); you have wireless Internet access; not keen on breakfast in any hotel or guesthouse in Italy unless you want to try outside. I think it met all my needs.

A wonderful experience to stay in an old Florence building. Ricardo is an absolutely charming host and goes out of his way to give advice of what to do and what not to do in Florence. He is so proud of his city and his guest house. Absolutely charming! I Definitely recommend!!

La Luna is situated just ouside the old city gate. It a great walk into town along the river. It is certainly a home from home with an italian painting on the celing of the room and authentic high celings and windows. Ricardo is the most helpful host you will ever find. nothing is too much trouble and he seems to genuinley enjoy helping his guests and heraing the tales of the day before. Stay here and enjoy the city you won't be disapointed!
