The apartment is in a great location, walking distance to major sites. There's a grocery across the street and numerous restaurants on the same block. The hosts were very accommodating, allowing us to drop our bags well before the regular check-in time, and even leave them a bit later on our check-out day. There's ample comfortable seating in the living and dining room for our party of six adults. The kitchen is well equipped and even has a freezer compartment in the fridge.
While the living areas and two of the bedrooms are spacious, the third bedroom is very tiny and has no storage - we had to live out of our suitcase. In fact, we had to move a couple items out of the room to be able to put our suitcase on the floor. The shower for this BR was only 24" square.
The owners have many personal belongings in most of the cabinets, closets and vanities, so guest storage is very limited. Personal toiletries (and a partially used tube of Preparation H) remained on the bathroom counters so we felt a bit more like intruders than guests.
There's an unpleasant odor that seems to emanate from the drains in the bathrooms.
As it was October and usually cool, the owners had removed the controls for the a/c in the bedrooms. However, we stayed during a hot spell, had no a/c or fans and had to leave bedroom windows open, resulting in lots of overnight mosquito bites.
This 3-bedroom apartment is in a perfect location for walking to all of the tourist sites. There is a grocery store directly across the street and many restaurants nearby. Found a great coffee shop, Ditta Artigianale just one block away on dei Neri. Their Croque madame sandwiches are delicious!
Paolo met us upon arrival and gave us a very detailed explanation of all the sites and restaurants.
Some of the communication with the owners before arrival was delayed but we did eventually get our answers.
We were very happy with the apartment and it's many amenities!
Our Stay in Florence was without fault . The appartment is large, beautifully decorated, clean and full to the brim with everything you need for a comfortable stay. A very big thank you to Stephania/Vanna for going out of their way and cooking my family dinner as our arrival was delayed by 8 hours making our check in at 10.00pm at night. We were very grateful . We highly recommended this amazing appartment and its hosts . Thank you again !!
We are 3 couples from Canada. The 3 bedroom apartment with 3 bathrooms met all our needs. There are plenty of dishes and cutlery and the dishwasher is very welcome. The rooms are nicely furnished and extremely comfortable. The grocery store is directly across the street and there are numerous restaurants close by. We were able to walk to all the tourist spots. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Florence. Thank you to our hosts.
The rooms are spacious and beautifully appointed, offering comfortable common areas as well as privacy when desired.....perfect for we three couples, or for a larger family or group of friends. Paolo greeted us most graciously on our arrival, provided us a thorough introduction to the apartment and to services/attractions in the neighborhood, after which we discovered on our kitchen table a welcoming supply of fruit, crackers, and wine!
The kitchen may be a bit snug for six people all at once, but it is very well equipped, and there is a large dining room which seated us all with room to spare. Across the street is a grocery store which will meet all your basic needs, but if you plan to do much cooking at home, you should make the trip to Mercato Centrale, where you'll find a dazzling array of stalls offering assorted meats, breads, produce, and fresh pastas. And for a quick, delicious sandwich or take-away meal, visit Guiliano Gastronomia, one block west of the apartment at Via dei Neri 5. (Meatballs and panna cotta according to his grandmother's recipe!)
Vanna, thank you for providing this wonderful home away from home. We enjoyed a most amazing two weeks in your beautiful city!
