Without a doubt Amarallis is the best apartment we had anywhere during a six-week trip to Italy. The location, directly opposite Santa Croce church and Piazza Santa Croce, is superb, if rather noisy. The apartment is spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped, although the shower is a little small and the combination boiler is prone to shutting off if the water pressure drops. We were in the apartment for two weeks and it felt more like a home than a holiday rental. We loved having a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, stovetop, and dishwasher, so we were able to cook most nights. The kitchen also had a small microwave and a toaster oven, but we didn't use them. We also loved having a washing machine, a clothes drying rack, and an iron and ironing board. If we lived in Florence this beautiful apartment is just what we would want. Just be warned the apartment is upstairs on the first floor and there is no elevator, which might be an issue if you have heavy suitcases. Diana, who manages the rentals, is warm, friendly and helpful. On the day we checked in she was unable to greet us personally, but we spoke on the phone and she graciously invited us to meet her at her home nearby so she could introduce us to Florence.
