Davide's leather goods have obviously better quality and craftsmanship compared to the street vendors albeit at a higher price point and that is fine for most. However, quality and craftsmanship alone are not the things that make Davide stand out from other similar quality leather good providers.

Having spoken to him personally before buying a leather jacket (never knew I needed one hah), I can say that Davide is vastly different because he clearly stands firm behind his goods for better or worse which is a mark of a true artisan. In addition, he is one of the very few people on TA that actively replies to any negative comments without the standard "Sorry we can do better" so often seen with many other shops and services.

TLDR: If you want a leather goods shop in Florence that doesn't truly break your bank and has the backing of a real artisan, I would recommend Davide Cerasi.

Davide's shop is by far the best and only shop worth visiting in Florence. Everything he carries is genuine Italian leather and designed from Davide himself. We had just bought a couple of leather jackets and they fit and look perfect! Based on the quality, feel, craftsmanship and style, they are comparable to any jackets you will find at the high end retail stores at no way near the retail price! Not only is he using the same materials as all high end retailers but he makes sure that his jackets fits correctly or he will either tailor the jacket or have one custom made!

Don't be fooled by the fakes you see in the streets, markets and other shops. Majority of the leather vendors in Florence sell mass produced items made from Asia where the stitch work is poor and the material is questionable. When you start to see the same bag, jacket or belt in 7 different stores your are definitely NOT buying a genuine Italian made product.

If you don't want to waste time on your holiday searching for the perfect coat..just go see Davide, you won't regret it. He has fitted many celebrities and athletes. Will definitely be back for more!
