We stayed at this hotel July 5th - July 8th. What a beautiful tranquill place which is run by an italian family. I must say that they went out of their way to make us feel welcome. I arranged a private tour with a local company who couldn't understand english very well and they arranged it on my behalf. They also booked us a reservation for a fish restaurant in town, which was divine! Then we went to see a local opera which again they were able to inform us about. The rooms were delightful and the room with a large balcony over looking florence was breathtaking. A big thankyou to the waiter(s) who were wonderful and funny. Thankyou for a lovely stay. Ages of family who went - 2 people in mid thirties and 2 people in late 70's. Captured everything we wanted xx

Last stayed stayed at Villa Belvedere in 1986. Now, some twenty-five years later,
it's, thankfully, still the same gracious establishment. The same owners have
ensured that the place has been regularly refurbished, and that the facilities
and service provoke nostalgic memories. Set in a quiet, upmarket suburb
south of the river it has a lovely mature garden with a pool and tennis court.
Parking is available in the grounds. A public bus service into town operates
from a point about ten minutes walk away, and one can alight within a five
minute walk of the Duomo. There is a Europcar rental agency ten minutes
walk from the Villa. Being located where it is, trips into Tuscany (Chianti, Siena,
San Gimignano, etc.) do not necessitate getting involved in the city traffic.
Breakfast is outstanding. Dinner is not served, but a range of dishes are
available either as room service or in the bar/lounge area. There are no
'proper' restaurants much before one gets into town. An internet facility
is available in the lounge at no cost. The bedrooms are served by an elevator.

My wife and I were greeted promptly by the friendly staff. They showed us to our room which was larger then we had expected and very clean. The room had a large double bed, small table and two chairs, incase you want to eat in your room, a small tv (12 inches), a full bath with shower and all the amenities you would expect. Breakfast is available from 7-10 in front sunroom. Breakfast is a continental style buffet, however there is a waiter to get you coffee, cappuccino and fresh warn croissants if you want them. The pool is clean and just perfect for a few hours of R&R and sunbathing. The rose garden and surrounding landscaping are beautiful. This hotel is close to downtown Florence, a 10 euro cab ride or a 1.40 euro bus ride. If you want the bus it is a 5 min walk to the bus stop. The busses come quite regularly and have many stops in downtown Florence. The staff at the hotel will sell you the bus tickets (they do not sell them on the buss, you must buy them in advance) and mark all the bus stops on a map for you. I would not really consider this hotel within walking distance to the major sights of Florence. My wife and I loved this hotel and we will stay there again the next time we are in Florence.

This is a hidden jewel surrounded by rose gardens and Italian cedars overlooking the beauty of Florence. The staff were so wonderful, always anticipating and exceeding our needs. The rooms are elegantly classical with all the modern conveniences. It was a real treat being there after being in the hustle and bustle of Florence.

Room Tip: We got the guest house off the main building
