“Great Self Catering”
Reviewed 31 May 2012 for a stay in April 2012

Stayed in Casa Santa Maria Novella whilst traveling with my friend in April, the apartment has one double bed and one fold out chair - which as Paolo said was more comfortable than it looked. Paolo meet us at the train station then lead the way to the apartment whilst sharing the location of the best little grocery in the area. When we reached the apartment which was only approx a 10-15minute walk Paolo carried out suitcases up the one flight of stairs and considering how heavy they were well my was as I brought the kitchen sink from home with me - my travel buddy and I were both very thankful. When up stairs Paolo provided up with a map and pointed out where all the main sites to see where and how long to get there etc and also marked where the grocery store was. He also was very happy to answer all the questions we had. The apartment is small and very cosy the bathroom is plenty big enough with a good size shower and the whole apartment was spotlessly clean. The kitchen has everything you need - Paolo has thought of everything the area is very small but we managed very well to cook 2 meals a day. We had one doing the cooking whilst the other sat at the table and cut up the vegetables and we took turns at washing the dishes - for us it worked out perfectly. The apartment is in a great location with regards to getting around to see all the major tourist spots that Florence has to offer and it is only 10-15 to the bus & train stations for a day trip to Lucca or Senna. The only thing was that there is a nightclub/bar right opposite the apartment and it is open till 3am - this may be rather annoying for some. Paolo has installed special sound proofing windows which does block out a lot of the noise - we simply chose not to be affected by it but if you are a light sleeper then this apartment is not for you. Although the apartment does not have WI-fi there is a internet cafe right next door - which was perfect as we always got a computer and the staff running are such lovely people.

“Real Florence Experience”
Reviewed 26 May 2012 for a stay in May 2012

The Casa Santa Caterina apartment was a great spot for our visit to Florence. This converted convent provided an authentic italian experience and was a great location for our daily adventures. There is a very comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen, nice size shower, and plenty of room to move around. The owner was super helpful with directions, recommendations, and went with us to buy groceries - we don't speak italian or metric so it was great to have him at the cheese and bread counters.

“Most fun ever in a nunery!”
Reviewed 16 May 2012 for a stay in April 2012

We arrived late (11:30 pm) and Paolo was standing outside in the drizzle waiting for our arrival. We took a taxi from the airport (about 30 E.) He had business cards for restaurants nearby that he recommended. The apartment is on the ground floor but you have to take a step down to get inside to the main living area and then a couple steps up to the bedroom. This is about a block from ponte vecchio, about 3 blocks from Pitti Palace and about the same to the Duomo and Ufizzi gallery. We walked everywhere with ease. I hope I get the opportunity to stay here again.

“Great apartment in Florence”
Reviewed 17 April 2012 for a stay in April 2012

We loved this apartment, it was very clean with many thoughtful touches such as city guides and info. Paolo met us at the train station and took us to the apartment - thanks for the map and food recommendations Paolo - and we would definitely stay there again. 3 flights of stairs with no lift but not an issue for us.
