When we decided to visit Italy, we had no idea what we were going to do there, where we were going to visit or anything. We knew where we were going to stay in Tuscany and we had a "host" that helped us with ideas.

Well, one of her ideas was to visit Florence and to take a walking tour. THIS WAS THE BEST DECISION EVER! She set us up with Fadi Bassil (bassil.fadi@gmail.com) and his tour group. Not only was he super personal, but he made us feel comfortable (almost as if the city was our own). Fadi has the most diverse knowledge base (from fashion to wine to architecture to history etc...) and has a real-world way to present it.

The tour was great, the city is beautiful and we feel like we've met a new friend. Thank you

I recommend a private tour with Fadi wholeheartedly! He met us at our hotel and tailored our tour to our family's interests. Michelangelo and his works and architectural design. We were treated to the history of the city, some of the design shops and hotels we wanted to peek in and unique, off the tourist track info and sights. The Michelangelo info was wonderful. Perfect balance! Loved his spot on restaurant recommendations, too!

My girlfriend and I had but one day to experience Florence and we didn't want to feel like tourists even though we truly were. Fadi outlined a simple plan that gave us 2-3 base destinations and customized the tour as we went along based on things we felt like doing and seeing. This was not a scripted tour where you become one of the helpless drones standing in a mass with a head set on listening to someone ramble on about history. The experience was chocked full of historically accurate information that flowed through the mouth of someone who truly cares about not only the history of art, architecture and the culture of Italy but even more importantly of the great city of Florence where he resides. There was a true dialog and open forum for questions so everything felt as though we had been living in the city as long as Fadi himself. We really felt as though a friend was taking us on a private tour and out to lunch to wine and dine in the city's finest.

Next time Rose and I come back we hope to tour through the wine country with Fadi as he himself knows food and wine of Italy above and beyond anyone I have met over there and his access and connections to Tuscany appear limitless.

All the best,
Ciao,
-Chris and Rose

A Unique Fashion Week with Touring Florence.

Fashion Tour with Touring Florence
We were a class from KEA in Denmark (a design school) and decided to get a fashion 2 days guided tours in Florence and Prato.

I think it was a very good decision to get a guided tour, We had a tour where we walked in the city and were shown the most special and expensive fashion stores, both shoes and clothes. We were shown, how some of the best known shoe brands worked with the materials, and we were out to see some of the workshops how they made shoes and which materials they used, such as Museo Ferragamo, Museo del Tessuto in Prato, Stefano Bemer for handmade shoes, Antico Setificio Fiorentino for silk, PNP and Luisa Via Roma.

We also visited Accademia Italiana were we saw what the students work on their collections, we saw some portfolio's which was very inspiring and had special access to back stage.

i think it was a big bonus to get a tour like this! if we should have went around ourselves we wouldn't have get so much out of it as when we got guides, Fadi and Bernardo who know were to go and know them, so it was both funny and exciting and the whole experience ended with Jazz and wine at a famous wine bar in Florence.

Looking forward to be back in Florence and experience more of it's fashion and style.

My wife and I booked various group and private tours (food, wine, historic walking) while visiting Italy this past March, all of which we enjoyed and all of which came highly recommended on this website. HOWEVER, the Uffizi and Accademia tour we went on with Bernardo through Touring Florence was by far the most informative and enjoyable of any tour we went on.

We are not art afficianados by any means, but we wanted to see the Uffizi and Accademia based on what we had read while researching things to do in Florence. Based on the initial reviews from this site, we decided that we would give this company a shot. We hit the jackpot! Bernardo's passion and knowledge of the pieces we observed created a desire in us to learn more. He is entertaining and educating all in one. I felt as though I had paid for an unstuffy, energetic, art history lesson, rather than just a plain tour of Florence's best museums.

Fadi, who also runs tours, as well as the business side of the company, was great to interact with as well. From our initial email communication, to our greeting in Florence prior to the tour, to the his goodbye in Florence at the end of our tour, Fadi was always prompt, genuine, and professional.

These guys have a great thing going, and we can't wait to give them more buisness.
