Owner description: There is plenty of sun, shade, singing birds and whispering fountains in one of Florence's largest and most beautiful gardens, which are located behind the massive Pitti Palace.

A great place for children to run about, scattered with many statues and grottoes to view. The view of the city from the many hills is beautiful. However, it’s pretty expensive to get in, really, at €10 per adult - and I’m used to London prices. However perhaps we are spoiled in London because our parks and museums are all free.

Not much is in bloom in March in this big park, but it can be a nice break away from the city. The price is a bit steep if all you do is a quick walk through.

Definitely it is a must to see due to its Historical and geographical placement.
However, do not expect to walk into a classic Italian garden blooming with all sorts of flowers. The garden can be better kept. I don’t think the Pitti family kept a huge prime property like this one without beautiful flowers and plants.

These gardens are beautiful. We could have spent hours here. I recommend to anyone coming to Florence. The views from high up are beautiful and it is lovely to walk around such a beautifully landscaped place with such lovely sculptures. We used our Firenze card to get in so I cannot comment on prices.

The entry fee for this barely cared for Garden is an astounding insult. The entrance way is almost barricaded by dustbins. Scaffolding and no entry signs decorate the entire place. For a world famous example of formal gardening it should be receiving more care. It is a dump. Do not bother with it. It was clearly built by tyrants to display their power. You need a horse drawn carriage to negotiate the steep slopes and a lot of patience to put up with the long gravelly drives screened by dense, boring hornbeam hedges. The best thing about it is the view out. If you go here prepare to feel abused by the Italian State. Terrible.
