“Out of the Ordinary”
Reviewed 25 January 2017 for a stay in January 2017

There were no reviews for this apartment and so based on the decor, I took the chance of booking. The location is excellent, close to everthing but also fairly quiet (on a weekend Florence), as it is on a piazza. There is an old lift which is novel and a bonus, as they are quite rare in old buildings. The decor is very well done and can be appreciated, and a really appropriate style for Floretine, Italy. This historical building has maximised the use of space but there are minimal windows. About 50% of the apartment has very low ceiling with wooden beams. Expect everyone to hit their head until they learn! Baldies might wear a hat indoors as they are more susceptible to gashes. Appreciated the washing machine (though could do with a nice cover as it faces the lounge area). In winter the apartment was lovley and warm and there were aircons for summer. There were some broken items which need replacing. I informed the owner who was very gracious. I will stay here again but check that there is a new settee, as one was broken. Lovely linen and attention to detail in most areas. Kitchen was very minimal and needs a bit of improvement but we did not plan to cook at all. Lots of nice restaurants all around and very close the the central indoor market to buy food. One shower box was dodgy. We had 6 people staying with a mix of adults, teens and one child. The 3rd bedroom would be much better with twin beds instead of a sofa and pull out, which was not suitable for a teen. The other beds were all very comfortable. It was roomy, great to have 2 bathrooms and very comfortable. The room between two bedrooms was brilliant to take oversize cases. There is a sort of 4th bedroom, with a single bed which is open to the living area but actually suited our 4 year, old who loved it. The manager Mr Vacca, with great English, was excellent to deal with at all times.
