I was in a group of 20 friends who stayed at the wonderful Villa Laura for a week. The property is stunning, and you really get a sense of what it is like to live the good life in Tuscany. Impeccably updated & maintained. Each bedroom has a luxury bath and individual heating & cooling. Two full kitchens gave us the ability to cook for 20. Just walking the grounds was immediately relaxing, or a dip in the saltwater pool. We had full access to the garden and made use of the fresh vegetables. Fruit trees offered an abundance of apricots. A well stocked wine cellar (reasonable prices) ensured we didn't go thirsty, either.
The villa was a little challenging to find initially (the sign is very small, and the gate is closed for good reason), so follow the directions provided closely and don't trust GPS.
The town of Cortona is lovely as well, and just minutes away, as was shopping (although the villa will arrange to have everything stocked for your if you prefer. Most any request can be accommodated.) Many walked to town, but it is a very steep walk and not for the out of shape. Plan on 45 minutes to get there, and bring some water. If you drive up, there is a large parking lot toward the "bottom" of town (it is all on a hill) that has free parking.
I cannot recommend this villa highly enough. A fantastic way to enjoy Tuscany.
