“Great apartment in a beautiful location”
Reviewed 7 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

We have just returned from a wonderful week at Casa Costa. The apartment is in a great location; just steps away from the Corso Umberto but very quiet and peaceful.
Paola and Max met us at the apartment and showed us around. They also gave us a map and some information about local restaurants, etc. The apartment really is a home from home as everything is provided for the dishwasher, washing machine, etc. There were also a few food supplies which was useful, such as yogurts, butter, jam, cereal and bread.
The terrace of the apartment is a huge bonus. We had some really warm days during our stay and loved sitting out on the terrace in the morning before heading out for the day.
The day before we left Taormina, Paola messaged us to ask if she could pop round with a small gift for the children. Our boys couldn't believe their eyes when Paola arrived with two large Easter eggs (plus a large box of local sweet treats for us)! We thought this was such a lovely, personal gesture.
We would highly recommend Casa Costa to groups of adults or families. Our children are aged 3 and 7 and it was ideal for a stay with them; the steps around the apartment might make it trickier for very young children but generally it was very family friendly. Taormina is a wonderful town to visit. Thank you Paola and Max for helping to make our stay so enjoyable!

“Excellent apartment and location”

Excellent apartment and hosts, very central location a few yards away from Corso Umberto shops, restaurants, travel agents for day trips etc and within 5 minutes of public parking (payable), however we did manage to mainly find park free outside the apartment in one of the few free parking spots, but this was off season and difficult at the best of times. The apartment is easy to find being almost opposite the police station. Very quiet and appears well insulated from neighbours compared to other apartments we have stayed in. The hosts Paola and Max went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed our stay by recommending restaurant, days out and texting during our stay to make sure all was ok. They provided a a packed fridge of breakfast and other indulgent goodies including jams, wine, biscuits, soft drinks, the fridge was packed. Wifi worked well and English Sky TV was a bonus.

The apartment was spacious. spotlessly clean, well maintained and decorated and exactly as advertised if not better. The terrace albeit down quite a few steps and as others have mentioned has lovely part views of the sea and Etna. Two bathrooms with range of toiletries with an choice of bath or shower, super king beds, firm mattress and plenty of hanging and storage, hot and cold air conditioning to room and bedrooms. The only thing we missed was a coffee table for drinks but who wants to sit in if nice weather. Would easily host 6 people. Taormina very pretty and a good base for touring or day trips and wouldn't hesitate to recommend both apartment and location.

“Home Away From Home”
Reviewed 25 February 2015 for a stay in December 2014

If you want to vacation in the comfort of home then you have found the place. Casa Costa is situated right in the heart of the beautiful town of Taormina next to the main walking street but tucked away from the buzz of the night. It has a spacious private terrace for al fresco dining overlooking Mt. Etna volcano and the sea. The apartment is located on the first floor of a beautifully restored Sicilian style building. It is comprised of 2 bedrooms, both with king size beds; 2 bathrooms, one of which has a bath and the other a shower stall; a living room; and a small kitchen. It is also very close to the Porta Catania gate where there is a large parking garage. A car is advised to get in and out of Taormina because it is a hill town and is not directly at the beach. When we stayed at Casa Costa we were impressed with the amount of care and thought the owners Paola and Max have put into making our stay comfortable. You do not have to worry about anything that you might need on your vacation because it is probably already there for you – from bath and shower supplies, good quality hairdryers, laundry detergents for washing machine, books and brochures about places to visit in Taormina and Sicily, coffee, fresh fruit and breakfast options in the fridge. If you want to watch TV you will find about 500 channels including the ones in your native language what ever it might be. Paola and Max have a very caring and warm attitude to their guests and will help to make your stay interesting and enjoyable by offering their advice on what to visit, where to eat and how to get there. There are many great restaurants in Taormina. The most unforgettable gastronomic experience we had at restaurants La Grotta Azzura with freshest seafood, Trattoria Pizzeria Antonio that is run by a Sicilian family and located at the foot of the apartment (ask for specialties that might not be in the menu) and Maffei’s restaurant. If you want to try the “best pizza in the world” according to Max and we agree with that, then go to Villa Zuccaro. For ice-cream and deserts we loved café C&G Cioccolato e Gelato right outside Porta Catania gate with beautiful views of Etna mountain and the sea from the terrace and Pasticceria d’Amore. I am writing this review with a big pleasure and thankfulness to Paola and Max for their warm hospitality, although we would prefer to keep Casa Costa a secret for ourselves.

“Lovely apartment in Taormina”
Reviewed 22 February 2015 for a stay in February 2015

We stayed in this apartment for 4 nights (17 - 21 Feb), we were met by the host Paola and she was very helpful describing everything about the area and showing us around her apartment. The apartment is in a lovely position and is well equipped with all you will need whilst on holiday, the hosts also go the extra mile and leave food items for you to enjoy and also soap etc for the bathrooms, certainly makes a difference. There are lots of restaurants in the town, so plenty of choice for foodies and also a small supermarket nearby for other extras.

We hired a car and drove from Catania Airport which was fairly easy on the Autostrada - expect to pay a few euros for using it but not much! Parked in the Porta Catania in Taormina, at this time of year the cost for parking there for 24 hrs is 15 Euros. The weather was unfortunately not great but we still used the car and went to the North and South of the Island on trips. The sun shone on one day and all I can say is WOW to the view of Etna covered in snow - could have stayed for hours just looking at the sight of such an amazing volcano.

We would certainly recommend this apartment in Taormina and also the hosts, so don't hesitate book it. Many thanks

“A wonderful find”

This is the most perfect place to stay in Taormina - one minute from the Main Street but tranquil quiet and spacious. A huge terrace has a view of a historic bell tower and the sea on one side, and a view of Mt Etna on the other. Paola was a wonderful friendly and helpful hostess, she went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Would lve to stay here again
