Taormina isn't a town where you get much space for your money, and after tooling around Sicily perhaps we took all that extra space for granted! But Hotel Villa Schuler is an excellently located, extremely friendly and well-run hotel. They helped us immeasurably by parking our car and, in one of my favorite instances in all of Sicily, said "Is that all your ordering?" after we tried not to be gluttons at breakfast.

Furthermore, we changed our plans last minute to spend one extra night in Taormina. The hotel upgraded us to a Deluxe Sea Room at the same rate as a regular since what we had booked wasn't available both nights. I might say, though, if you can wait to book maybe do that since the prices seemed to decline the closer we got to our date of arrival.

Thank you for your compliments and your review sharing that funny „one of my favorite instances in all of Sicily“. Your suggestions about declining prices the closer you get to the arrival date gives us the opportunity to describe our rate policiy.

Revenue management is rates beeing at their lowest the earlier you book, then rising prortionally to the increase in occupancy. Exeptions to this rule are last minute offers which we sometimes start 13 days prior to arrival date.

One golden rule: whenever you book, if you book us direct you get first hand access to a higher availability of rooms. And you get also my personally guaranteed best rate.
In all our Special Offer periods for direct bookings we add another bonus which is a parking space reservation for free in our hotel garage, our hassle-free valet parking service is a rarity for Taormina’s medieval town centre.

When searching a hotel, do not forget to check the hotel’s own web site.

This is an excellent hotel, extremely well run and managed with great attention to detail, and with wonderful staff. In addition the hotel itself, the gardens, the location and the views are all beautiful.

We've just returned from a fantastic week at Villa Schuler, and would highly recommend it. We were lucky enough to get a substantial discount on the full room price, for early booking and for early season, so paid only 87 euros per night for bed and breakfast for two people, about £73. This was for room 1, the atrium double on the garden side, one of the cheapest rooms.

Room 1 seems to divide opinions, with some people loving it and others hating it. We were very definitely in the loving it camp! The leafy private courtyard outside the room was delightful, with much more space and privacy than a small balcony. The room itself and the bathroom were spacious and well appointed, and yes, there is somewhat of a lack of natural light in the room but this did not bother us, and I should think it will be a positive advantage in the hot summer months, keeping the room cooler. We didn't hear a sound from any other room.

We particularly appreciated details in the room such as an excellent shower, central heating for chilly evenings, a fridge for our use (not a minibar), numerous well located power points, and many useful hooks in the bathroom. There is an air conditioning unit with a remote control for the hotter months. If we wanted to see the wonderful view from the hotel we simply took our books, with a glass of wine, up to the roof terrace or out on the breakfast terrace at the front of the hotel, but we spent just as much time in our leafy courtyard.

We really enjoyed our delicious breakfasts outside on the terrace each morning, with choices including a variety of breads, cereal, yoghurt, fresh fruit, orange juice, cold meat and cheese, and freshly cooked egg dishes, with a full choice of hot drinks. Greatly superior to the usual Italian hotel breakfast in our experience, and always served with a smile and an evident wish to do everything to please guests.

There is a small bar near the reception area, and every kind of drink can be served 24hrs a day, and brought to wherever you want it. All the staff are wonderfully kind, friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble.

Taormina itself is beautiful, and was not crowded so early in the season. We were very lucky with the weather but would not hesitate to visit again at the same time of the year.

thank you for your positive review. It is quite common for hotels to realize how exactly the same room can be perceived and rated so extremely differently from guest to guest. The pure and simple truth is rarely pure and never simple.

We always try hard to be as honest as possible when describing and photographing our rooms. Unfortunately even the most renowned travel portals have standardized systems that do not always allow a hotel to provide his own copy and paste official descriptions, so it is always better to check the hotel’s own official website.

A little late with review but better late than never. Stayed in a seaview room for 5 nights June 2011. The views from room were amazing and it was a delight to stay in this hotel. We chose this hotel based on review on T.A. and close proximity to the Corso. Due to a slight disability, found the 70 steps to the Corso a little difficult but have no regrets. The room was very spacious with plenty of cupboard space for clothes etc, spacious bathroom and comfortable bed. . We were so happy to find there wasn't a buffet breakfast and really enoyed the breakfast cooked specially for you. Couldn't want for more. The only negatives about this hotel would be one lady from reception who treated my husband like a small child when he dared to ask if it was possible to have another map as he had lost his. We certainly wouldn't have minded paying for it if we were asked. Chose to book a return car to the airport which proved to be very stressful. Arrived very late, about 40 minutes from memory and had a very fast ride to meet our plane. But this wasn't the fault of the hotel but next time we'd possibly use a different company.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a seaview you won't regret it.

We visited Taormina and stayed here in 2010. I have recently looked at some photos and decided to leave a quick review just to say this is a wonderful villa who lives up to it's stars. You won't be disappointed with the location and sea views, the gardens at the back are also lovely, with lots of citrus trees and shrubs. Will certainly get back in the future.
