Owner description: The view of Mount Etna and the sea beyond is absolutely superb at Taormina's 10,000-seat ancient Greek amphitheater, which was erected in the third century BC and expanded by the Romans.

Only in Italy can you touch the story with your hand and breathe it too, the Greek theater is history with breathtaking views!

Great site, beautiful setting and good value for money. You only pay for adults so teenagers <16 were free of charge.

We visited early in the morning just after opening to avoid the crowds, especially the tour groups and school students. It takes about 1 1/2- 2 hours if you take your time. Our visit was a clear day and we had a great view of my etna. Very interesting historical site.

A fabulous place! Dramatic views of the coast around ...A step back in time..Definitely worth a visit, however I would suggest going there off season. I can’t even imagine how crowded it gets in summer.

As an ancient history student I can tell you this is underwhelming. The views are stunning; and your photos will be totally insta worthy, but the level of historical info and the audience engagement during the visit was lacking. You really dont need a guide. The space is stunning - its remarkably well restored. Try your best to get a reduced or free ticket if possible. If youre a student, child its half price and if youre a classics student it's free. It's not worth €10 full price but its the thing to see in taormina. The city is stunning see the gardens too. Kids will run around but if you visit early spring youll get the panorama of etna and the pleasure of quiet city streets without tourists ruining it for you. You'll also have the pleasure of all the orange blossom in the groves below wafting up to smell. Be prepared to pay money for food in the area. Stay in the shade theres plenty of it.

Thank Eve B
