Try the arancini in this old bakery shop/ cafe. We took away a ragu arancini and a pistachio arancini, and both were delicious. We ate them in the nice park across the shop, which is worth a visit. Staff was friendly and didn’t mind speaking in English.

Ordered the arancio, granita,, ice coffee, chocolate pastry...all delicious...but honestly all of Sicilia has great food of every kind. I thought I'd fall off my chair...I didn't.

Catania is a fantastic city to visit.
One of its jewels is this pastry and ice cream shop.
The seating outside is very comfortable.
You can order standing inside or get table service outside.
The selection range is very wide and extensive.
Prices are reasonable
Taste is great and smooth as will
Service is professional
Go there it is worth the visit.

in first place i went solo. i felt not welcomed by the waiter. but i tried once more with my 2 seniors. got worst. waiter threw the menu on the table and we had to wait for a long time before he came back. we ordered 3 expresso. watching his face obviously it seems we offended the guy. he said "that s it?" and left frustrated. coffee wasn't that good and was 3 time more exprnsive that anywhere else. ☹

we are sorry for your negative experience.
It will be only misunderstandings with the waiter due to the large turnout of people in recent days.
We apologize for the unfortunate event and hope to see you soon in our bakery.
Greetings

The beauty of the sweets display is overwhelming - you'll want one of everything. I love nougat candy (torreone) in Italy. This shop has some of the best I've tasted. Try the orange (arancia) and lemon (limone). This confection is sort of like divinity but has Sicilian pistachio and almonds in it. It is also flavored in this case. This shop's nougat also have a flavored fondant coating. This candy travels and freezes well. Sold by the kilogram, you can get as much or little as you want. They'll also pack an assortment into one of the wonderful wooden carretto art boxes - all of which makes wonderful gift or souvenir. This shop has many other rich desserts and candies including the curious St Agatha's candy - learn the story of this AFTER eating. There is also gelato and street food type snacks that I'm sure are wonderful. Now, the harder stuff. The clerks don't or won't speak English and are a little snooty - seems to be a thing in the Pasticcerias. But point, use your couple of Italian words and don't be put off from enjoying a taste treat. How to order - look the items over. Remember the names of what you want. Go to the cashier and tell him you want X amount of whatever. Pay. Get a receipt. Take the receipt to the clerk behind the display counters to get your items. Unnecessarily complicated and difficult for a non-Italian speaking tourist? You bet. But it's all part of the Sicilian travel experience in a big city - rural stores are a lot more friendly.
