Stayed close by so visited this restaurant. The goat carpaccio was nice as was the pecorino starter (mainly cheese on toast!). We both had the pasta special for main course which included clams, courgette and a tomato sauce. This was really nice but thought it was expensive at 17 euros per person for spaghetti with some clams, etc.
The pizzas looked nice but again, thought that they were overpriced for a pizza.
The house wine was very nice and reasonably priced.
The main thing that lets this restaurant down is the service. The waiting staff are quite sullen and not very quick or enthusiastic.
We found better restaurants in Alghero.

We had lunch twice here, as we loved the way they cocked the mussel soup:)). The best I had in Alghero!
We tried also grilled calamari, fresh salads, pasta with clams, etc....Very tasty, fresh and with the taste of homemade food!
Terrace at the top is nice, using the best of building space!
I recommend this small restaurant.

First time in La Botteghina this week in spite of having a holiday apartment only a few streets away and also receiving lots of excellent feedback from our guests. (Yes, we feel a little ashamed!)

What a wee gem! It was a quiet lunch but that in no way affected the service we received. Our waiter had the perfect mix of humour, efficiency and knowledge.

We decided to save the pizzas for another time so I chose a seafood fregola stew. Intense flavours, generous amounts of prawns and mussels - it was a stunning dish.
My husband had a simple pecorino salad which was fresh and flavoursome too.

All up with bread, water and 500mls of a very good house White we paid a mere 43 euros. Superb value and the roof terrace is a lovely spot.

We had a massive pizza about 50-60cm in length.
It is a quirky place that also has a roof terrace which was chilly on the evening but we were visiting in the autumn. The place was quite full and busy always a good sign when the locals eat there too.
The first time we visited it an afternoon, we were overbowled by the food. The base of our pizza was exquisite and the ingrediants were fresh. The staff were smiley, friendly and warm.
The second time we visited in an evening it was not as tasty and quite bland, by comparasion, maybe a different chef? However we would not hesistate in coming back.

Nice roof top restaurant in the old city. Its quiet small but very nice at the open roof top terasse. They offer a good and very friendly service. Dont be afraid about some of the small tables, its possible to eat there and you ll enjoy it. The offer seafood, pastas in different variants, some very nice starters (as the seafood get to know plate). Also they have 50cm pizzas which are served for two people and can be mixed from two pizzas. The are very food (we had the pear gorgonzola pizza mixed with the dry salcicca pizza)
and delicate. All in all a very good choice in Alghero. Ask for a reservation during the day, otherwise a lot of people were send away in the evening.
