We made a half day trip via train to Vicenza and happened upon Caffe Pigafetta purely by chance. That was our good luck!

Definitely not your run of the mill coffee shop....although that's not to decry any of the coffee shops we frequented in the Veneto Province.

The owners ( as we found out ) are totally absorbed in the culture of coffees - and teas! They have blends we didn't find anywhere else in Italy and their love for their business shows.

We can only sum it up by saying it was without doubt the best coffees we had on our holiday and the staff were both knowledgable and friendly.

Recommended wholeheartedly!

There was 3 of us,one had a pot of green tea one had special coffee with hazenut and. Brioche and I had a big express and a Brioche. Everything was great and will try to every afternoon. We made numerous friends and feel camaraderie with the owner.

Wonderful coffee in Vicenza at Caffe Pigafetta. A must visit. Highly recommend. Friendly service, excellent location in Vicenza for a stop when enjoying Palladio architecture. Get a cuppa and a brioche. You won't regret it!

"Caffe' Pigafetta" is NOT your usual coffee-house or Cafe'. As a matter of fact there is nothing ordinary about this place: EVERYTHING IS EXTRA-ORDINARILY GOOD, EXCELLENT, PRIME QUALITY!!! Caffe' Pigafetta is in the heart of Vicenza, a little enchanting town just a heartbeat from Venice. Vicenza is the hometown of the great architect Andrea Palladio, but it is also the hometown of Sir Antonio Pigafetta: THE FIRST MAN TO HAVE TRAVELLED ACROSS THE WORLD!!! Yes, Mister Pigafetta was one of the very few people who came back alive from Magellan's famous First Circumnavigation Of The Terestrial Globe in Man's History! The ship he came back on was the Victoria, a perfect name to symbolize such an epic endeavor. The Caffe' Pigafetta is so called because: A) It's right next to Antonio Pigafetta's city dwelling, B) This unique Cafe' invites you to take a voyage of the finest coffee or tea or chocolate tasting around and in the world! They have among the very finest coffee varieties and blends in the world (Blue Mountain, Saint Helena, Hawaiian, Indonesian Kopis...), they also have the finest teas in the world (prime quality chinese and japanese green teas, the best chinese and indian black teas, Oolongs, spicy blends...) and finally they have the best cocoas to make prime quality hot or cold chocolate: a true Chocolate Dream! MISTER LUIGI (everybody calls him affectionately GIGI) Schirato AND MADAM CARLA Filippin are the very fine couple who OFFER YOU OVER 400 IRRESISTIBLE COFFEE PREPARATIONS (some their very own creation!), OVER 50 DELICIOUS TEAS AND OVER 20 HEAVENLY CHOCOLATES!!! What's more, they offer incredible wholesome infusions for the body and the soul, a beautiful environment, an ever-present welcome smile and lots more to discover... if you venture to take THIS VOYAGE OF SUPREME GOOD-TASTE INTO THE LANDS OF COFFEE, TEA, COCOA AND MUCH MORE!!!... A whole year's voyage wouldn't suffice to taste all the hidden treasures that Caffe' Pigafetta has to offer, even if you came every day... so TRY IT! IT WILL BE WORTH THE EFFORT, ALWAYS! I have lived in Italy for four years now and this is my favorite cafe in the whole world! The great care and love placed into every cup of coffee is astounding. Gigi and Carla became friends with us and befriended our son. We speak a little Italian and they little English but care for what you do and an appreciation for life knows no language. Gigi showed my son how to work the espresso machine and handle money... Carla loved showing him to the locals (and there are many locals which as a traveler, tells you a great deal) and they both always loaded him up with chocolate. There are people you meet in life that make you proud to have travelled to a different country where you do not know the language but can communicate in happiness. This is what separates this cafe from the multitude of cafes ever visited, a love for life and what you do every moment. You can taste it in the excellent coffee and palladio cappuccinos!
