We stayed in room 19 which has a beautiful view on main road where you can enjoy a beautiful view of Vecchio castle.
Room was very clean with old style furniture.
Cleaning was done every day, spotless!
Located very close to all main tourist objectives, so you don t have to pay for busses.
You get a delicious breakfast, choice of cereals, ham& cheese, fresh croissants, small baguettes, fresh fruits, boiled eggs, butter, toast, cappuccino, coffee, tea...
There s a lounge if you wanna chill out, or downstairs (where reception is) you can enjoy a drink and watch tv.
Very close to Porta Nuova rail station ( walk 15 min, bus 6 min)where you get connections to Milan, Venice, Torino.( we went to Venice-1h20 min)
I honestly think it deserves more than 2 stars.
Overall, we had a lovely time in Verona and a lovely stay at Al Castello. Very happy

When you find yourself in Verona stay at Al Castello...you will not be disappointed. This family owned albergo is neat and clean, breakfast is very substantial, and the family will be very helpful. It is centrally located to attractions and close to many restaurants. Grazie mille to all of the family and staff at Al Castello. We will return.

The only highlight of this place is the location which is in the heart of all the attractions. Other than this, however, disappointing. No reception or lobby area, not too nice hosts, small, dark rooms. Definitely does not deserve 2 stars. We left our luggage upon check-out and when we came back to pick it up, the host jut took the luggage outside the doors, even though we had bags in our hands and wanted to pack it. Ended up doing it downstairs in the hall... We have stayed in better 1 star hotels in Italy than this supposed 2 star.

Situated near Castle and the Arena this is a good base for exploring the ancient part of the city. Small clean rooms, plenty of hot water and pleasant helpful family. Air conditioning is efficient and quiet which is a plus.
Breakfast is on the meagre side but just about adequate. The main problem is traffic noise which starts around 6am and continues until midnight, so ear plugs and an eye mask are essentials if your room is on the main road side of building.
Hotels are expensive at height of the season, so although this hotel looks pricey for its standard you would pay a lot more for a good 4 or 5 star hotel.

Room Tip: Try and get a room away from main road at point of booking.

Highly recommended, friendly family hotel in the hearth of Verona, five-minute walk from the Arena. Newly renovated, perfectly clean rooms, kind and caring family who also give useful advice for the guests.
