“Perfecto!”
Reviewed 31 March 2012

We stayed at the Residenza Ca'Foscolo from the 17th to the 22nd of March 2012. Our original
plan was to check out on the 21st but we liked the place so much that we reduced one day from our Interlaken stay and extended it here in Venice.
Location wise the place is great.. very close to Rialto, and just about 10 mins from San Marco. Yet, quiet and peaceful. The interiors are very nice, plush and modern. Furniture, fittings etc.. all great.
When we reached venice, we thought we would need to buy some groceries like Milk, bread, butter etc.. since we were traveling with kids and we needed all that... but to our surprise, the place was stocked with everything we could need.. right from bread, milk, butter to meats and cookies, juice, cereals etc... AWESOME! and they replenish whatever you finish!
The Hosts - wonderful people. Elisabeth was so helpful and sweet, and so were the others. Very friendly, helpful, informative..
Staying at this place was the best decision.. thanks to my wife who found it online!
I would HIGHLY recommend the place to everyone.. family / business / solo / couples.. everyone!!

Room Tip: Ground floor apartments if you have a lot of luggage... but if you want a cabal view.. then up top!

Great location - just a 5 minutes from Rialto bridge and 15 minute walk to Saint Marks Square. Room was a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 full bathrooms, large lounge and dining area. Immaculately furnished and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was great and filled us all up until late afternoon - family of 4.
Staff spoke perfect English and couldn't have been more helpful - allowed us to use their PC to check in online to come back and booked a water taxi for us.
Local Coop supermarket is 5 minute walk away for all the usual food and drinks.
The apartment was really quiet, easy to find and better than I expected. I would go as far as to say it is the best accommodation we have ever stayed in on holiday.
We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anyone.

After much deliberation and on-line search, we opted to stay at Ca'Foscolo and we certainly did not regret our choice. This place has everything one could wish for in Venice: perfect location, within 5/10 minutes' walk of all the major sights and yet tucked away in a quiet campo, spacious, modern accommodation, with fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, washing machine, large fridge-freezer, 4 ring hob + full-size oven, large living-room with 2 settees and satellite TV, excellent modern bathroom, and good-sized bedroom with very comfortable bed and plenty of wardrobe space. You also have your own independently controlled heating/air conditioning. If you add the full breakfast* tray replenished every day and the very warm welcome from the owners, I think this is one of the best holiday apartments my wife and I have ever stayed in. We'll definitely be back!!!
* If you want fresh bread for breakfast rather than the pre-packed types provided, there are a couple of excellent bakeries just around the corner in San Lio, 5 minutes' walk away.
People with mobility problems should be aware that access is via several flights of stairs, unless of course you are lucky enough to get one of the 2 the ground floor suites. There are 6 suites on what are effectively the 2nd & 3rd floors as the 1st floor is not part of Ca'Foscolo. A little confusing, "a la veniziana"!!!

Room Tip: We had room 3, it was excellent although, as is often the case in Venice, it looks out onto the wall...

What a jewel!!! Our family of 6 had two rooms. What a surprise. Each room had two bedrooms, 2 baths, kitchen, dining table for 4, living room, and washing machine. The rooms were the largest and least expensive of the 4 hotels we used during our vacation. Only one room had a canal view with balcony, but who stays in their room to look out the window? The rooms were very clean. Breakfast items were stocked in the room each day and included munchies and water for those meandering Venice walks. The hotel would have been a little difficult to find, but 80 yr. old Mary led us from St. Marks Square to the Residenza--no charge-- just a wonderful Italian being kind to befuddled-looking Americans! Thank you again Mary--wherever you are.

There is no lift, so be prepared to carry your own luggage up several landings. The staff was very efficient and helpful. However, their hours are somewhat limited (I think 8-5). The location was very good--5 -10 minutes to St. Marks Sq.

Room Tip: No hotel that we used provided face (wash) cloths, so bring your own.

We couldn't believe the two bedroom suite with a kitchen and balcony we had at the Residenza Ca'Foscolo!! I loved it so much I wanted to move in! The rooms are beautiful, the service is great, and the location of the hotel couldn't have been better - everything is in a walking distance. We had the room #7 and they told us it's the largest - I HIGHLY recommend it, it's absolutely gorgeous and very spacious for a family of five. Our kids are older, but if you travel with younger children, be aware that the largest room is on the top floor (no elevator) and during the weekends there is some noise coming from the streets (it echos from the canal) and during the week the city noise (trash removal etc.) start already at 7AM. It didn't bother us, we always wake up early and wanted to explore the city, but if you are looking for long sleep.. this might not be your best choice (I don't know which is in Venice).
The breakfast was brought to the room ready for next morning - and kids were able to eat some of it as snacks during the day too. It was great to be able to eat in and on our own pace, and not go to hotel restaurant etc. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant and even the lobby isn't open late, but it didn't bother us. There is a restaurant called Da Mamo close by and we ate there three times during our visit - absolutely the best pizza we've ever had. We will come back and stay at Residenza Ca'Foscolo again!

Room Tip: Ask room 7 even if you want the largest room - but be aware it faces the canal - great view & ba...
