This is the second time I have stayed here and I have really enjoyed both times. The rooms are quite small but beautifully designed and comfortable. We stayed on the top floor this time and had access to the private rooftop balcony, which was amazing! The staff is always wonderfully nice and helpful and I appreciated that they welcomed me back repeatedly. If you want to be near Piazzo San Marco, then the location cannot be beat!

Mr. Pillowtalker and I only stayed one night but we agreed we had found a gem in Ca’ dei Dogi. Location is fantastic next to St. Mark’s square and the San Zaccaria public boat stop - the hotel provides great directions which you just have to trust (I would never have turned down the alleyway between buildings to get to the hotel but it was correct!). For us, it was the perfect location - even if just to make a pit stop when we were unable to locate a public toilet/WC.

Susanna is a wealth of knowledge and can help with anything you need.

We were on the 4th floor, which yes - as other travelers note requires stairs, but they were simple to navigate. The room was beautiful and comfortable and the AC gets nice and cold if you turn it all the way down. A bonus of being on the fourth floor is that you pass the entrance to the beautiful rooftop terrace that we never would have found if we had not stayed on the top floor. Picture a nice quiet rooftop in the middle of Venice in what feels like your own private residence. We took a bottle of champagne and had a perfect end to our evening.

Rooms were quiet and had everything we needed. Bed was comfortable and they had a set of spare (softer) pillows in the armoire.

In-room safe holds passports and small items but does not fit a laptop; for us it didn’t matter...

Breakfast was included in our rate and was an experience to say the least, and is held in the associated restaurant next door. We chose our seats and food started appearing. Beautiful croissants filed with apricot (the best part), containers of yogurt, a fruit bowl, coffee, hot tea and they asked if we wanted omelets so we said “sure.” Mushroom, ham, cheese, they asked? Sure again. Omelet wasn’t particularly fluffy but it tasted good and kept us sustained throughout the rest of our day.

This feels more like a residence/B&B one on one experience so if you’re looking for big fancy hotel with big lobby, spa/pool and the like this isn’t the place for you. But if you are looking for a quiet, comfortable home away from home from people who sincerely care about your stay, you can’t go wrong.

We loved this little hotel! The location is absolutely perfect!! You couldn’t be any closer to the big attractions. The room was small but had everything you need. Breakfast was included and it was much better than we expected. I would definitely recommend it!

The location was spot on - just round the corner from St Marks Square adjacent to Doges Palace - in fact from our little balcony and their roof top veranda you can see the Palace, and if you visit Palace you can look from the window and see the hotel.

At first view it seems off a pathway in a small enclosed courtyard and we weren't sure we had the right place. It is a small facility and the rooms are compact but I would highly rate their use of space, the finish of the bathroom etc. It was very clean and the room made up to a high standard every day. The shower was on the small side but worked very well. A memory foam mattress gave us wonderful nights sleep and it was very quite given the location. As in all of Venice stairs to be climbed (depending on floor) but no problems for us.

The staff/gentleman on reception could not have been more helpful, always seemed to be there - assumed he did sleep at some point - but was happy to tend to needs. You can use the laptop and printer in reception if needed to print boarding passes etc.

Only thing was they didn't have an iron - after a flight I could have used one on a few clothes - but that is the only lacking facility.

Breakfast was good. Generally supplied with fresh fruit salad, yogurt, croissants or pastries, coffee, juice and the choice of omelettes.

The wifi was excellent and worked through out the hotel.

You are supplied with a key and fob incase the staff are not on reception at the time you return, we only had to use the fob access once as they always seemed to be there and buzzed the door open before we reached it.

A great little find and I would happily book again on my next visit to this beautiful city.

Room Tip: Higher up would give nicer view of the Palace - but lower down would mean just the one flight of stairs.

We stayed in the Sole apartment - six stories above the streets of Venice. There is no elevator so the walks up helped burn off the good food and drink of Venice.

The location of this property is outstanding. It is about 200 m from the water taxi stands and about the same distance from the Dogi palace facing St Mark's Square. From the apartment you actually look directly onto the back of the palace.

The apartment is spacious with a separate bedroom and living area - that includes a kitchen.

It is recently renovated, modern and well maintained.

Perhaps the biggest perk is the large deck that gets sun all afternoon and evening.

We had a temporary problem with hot water that was fixed very quickly after we notified management. And we enjoyed our check in experience with Susanna - part of the management team/couple.

Room Tip: The Sole apartment is not typical and not for the faint of heart (six stories up) but worth it.
