“Wonderful boutique hotel in a great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2012

We stayed for two nights over a weekend and were extremely pleased with this hotel.

Strong points:
-Cool and contemporary design.
-Well appointed, well maintained, clean rooms.
-Great breakfast included, served anywhere you want (room, dining room, terrace), nearly anytime in the morning.
-Free and fast Wifi included
-Excellent personal service from arrival to departure (complimentary glasses of prosecco is nice on arrival, but to have two more complimentary glasses when we came to pick up our bags to leave on our departure day, long after check-out, was totally unexpected and greatly appreciated)
-Location. We really enjoyed being on Dorsoduro where it seems a bit more authentic (if there is such a thing in Venice), and this hotel is very close to both the vaporetto stop that can shoot you across the Grand Canal to San Marco quickly and a major footbridge if you decide to walk it. Really excellent spot.

To be honest, I can't really think of anything to complain about. This was a great little hotel and we'd definitely stay there again.

Visited for 3 nights in February. This really is a great hotel. To set the record straight (based on review posted Jan 2012) ,the reception staff are fantastic and do perform concierge duties perfectly. Dont forget this is a relatively small sophisticated hotel , not part of a big chain.

the long weekend started brilliantly with a limo/private boat transfer right to the steps of the hotel. This was very pricey but if you are going for a special occasion it is an unbeatable way to arrive in one of the prettiest cities in the world.
The location is fabulous, across the Grand Canal and one stop on the Vaporetto from St. Marks Sq. The area (Dosoduro) is very atmospheric and whilst it is easy to find bars and restaurants ,wandering around at night you will come across very few people.
This is an ancient building and the rooms are all different with great character. The breakfast room overlooking the canal is gorgeous ,and once again the staff are unbeatable. Many thanks to all at Ca Maria Adele

The serene quiet location of the hotel is lovely, at the tip of the Dorsoduro, close to the vaporetto and within pleasant walking distance of the Accademia bridge. Overall the hotel is charming, comfortable and recommended. The review is written as the hotel, which is very good, could be great. Some tweaks are needed to earn the ratings and rates. The concierge assistance is inconsistent and weak, with little knowledge shared on restaurants and events, and little tailored to preferences of guests. The desk operates more as a friendly reception but not as a concierge. Little annoyances, including stiff towels, frayed unchanged bath robe, plastic wrapped cups in the bathroom, dirty cloth hand rail, again don't fit with a "luxury" rating. Similarly, complementary touches such as flowers or chocolates in the rooms, or complimentary evening tea or a drink, are missing at this hotel. Given the lack of an on-site bar, or restaurant, the room service menu could be expanded. The common seating area in the winter, when the small terrace is too cold, is also limited. This is a hotel you want to love and return to, yet the owners/management need to get more involved to ensure an overall quality experience and atmosphere for guests (beyond the stylish decor) and to stay on top of improvements that warrant a "luxury" boutique rating, including concierge services.

We stayed in October for our first anniversary, having previously stayed for our honeymoon.

It is a truly wonderful hotel and such a relaxing atmosphere. The staff are are very professional at all times. They arranged trips for us and recommended very good restaurants. There is also an asian guy who works in the evenings bringing room service. He is a credit to the hotel - very professional, friendly, smiley and hard working. (Sorry, I don't recall his name). Nothing was too much trouble for him.

The rooms are all beautiful. We stayed in a suite which was just lovely, and it's great to have the extra space and small private terrace outside. The mini bar has complementary soft drinks in it which is a nice touch.

We will be back again in 2012 for our second anniversary. It has become a very special place for us.

My husband and I went here for part of our honeymoon trip to Italy. I cannot explain how wonderful their service was. Every minor detail was attended to, with the utmost professionalism and care. Anything we needed we were given without asking. A fabulous hotel, very quaint and familiar in the heart of a beautiful area in Venice. A walking distance to San Marco square, with views of the beautiful church from your window. Stunning, excellent hotel with exceptional charm!

Room Tip: We stayed in the yellow and black Asian themed room. Very cool!
