“Great Location, great value, residential venice”

Our family of 5 with young children had a great stay here. The location was fabulous in the Cannaregio away from the hustle and bustle of San Marco with a very residential feeling, but still an easy and interesting walk to San Marco and the major sights. It was easily accessible by water taxi from the airport to the Madonna dell'Orto stop where we were met by Francesco, Luciana's son who took us to the apartment. The apartment was great, met all our needs and we enjoyed the homey feeling of the place. Luciana and Francesco were easy to make arrangements with and were flexible about our departure time on our last day. In many ways, staying here was a very special part of our experience of Venice. And to top it off it was a great value. Definitely recommended.

Love this place. This apartment is around a 20 minute walk from the main attractions, and is much the better for that. It's a little tricky to find by yourself, but luciana arranged for someone to be waiting for a water taxi to drop us off and showed us the way. The river taxi cost 60 euros from the piazza Roma and is well worth the investment given the alternative of lugging suitcases up and down the various bridges between the drop off point and the apartment.
The apartment itself is authentically decorated and has a consistently Italian feel to the design. The air conditioning works well, thank goodness given the 40deg heat outside. Beds are all comfortable, the bathroom is neat and tidy and has a good shower. And the kitchen is fully kitted out with fridge, freezer, dishwasher and cooker. It's all there and works well.
There's a market a short walk away, restaurants on hand if you need a rest from the inevitable walking that Venice demands. And you get free wifi as well, which is a godsend if you have teenage kids with you...
It's a quiet, peaceful residential neighbourhood within a beautiful 20 minute walk of the piazza San Marco and around 15 mins from the Rialto bridge. Is a cracking little find and modestly priced too. Definitely recommended.
