We chose this hotel for the location and were not disappointed. Our junior suite had a balcony overlooking the Grand Canal, and the views were breathtaking. We couldn't fault the hotel; it was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was very good, with fruit, pastries and a hot option. The staff are exceptional; everyone from the concierges down to the chambermaid were friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. We had room service on our last night as we were shattered after all the sightseeing, and this was good too, if expensive. The vaporetto stop is right outside the door and there is a very nice little terrace in front of the hotel where you can have a drink and watch the boats going by on the Grand Canal. Yes, it is expensive, but this is the kind of hotel you dream about during those long cold winter evenings in the UK. Don't miss a trip to Burano, either, it was stunning.
