We have just celebrated our 3th year’s wedding anniversary in Venice, Hotel Montecarlo. We loved this hotel, it was more than three stars . The services were always high professional starting with the room service to the waiters and reception staff, all perfect , always professional attitudes, presence, perfect looking uniforms , all members of staff very friendly , making us feeling very welcome in Venice.
The hotel decorations were in a very elegant Venetian style , gold notes on the rooms furniture, rich Murano candelabras, gold notes on the wall paper, perfect cleaned rooms, decorated in all details from individual letter paper and printed envelopes with the hotel name to the chromatic in the restaurants , Murano mirrors selection in restaurants, table preparation perfect ironed table covers, Villeroy & Bosh Porcelains, perfect simetrie and harmonies in colours in the whole hotel. This hotel was for us a miniature of a five star plus hotel. The hotel services were always customer orientated, nothing was too much, the staff gave us full assistance , searched our baby dummy, screwed our baby car’s screws, charged our phone, advised us with specific information and security in the period of the Adria Sea flux reflux ... and nothing was too much.
Coming now to the quality of the breakfast, that was soooooo tasty and rich. The croissants absolute chef d’oeuvre, fresh backed, everything tasted so different good to what we know it is served in the breakfast hotels, the small breads they were as now taken out from the oven with that attractive perfect bread smell and taste.... the variety of cold and warm breakfast, fruits, cakes, and the coffee.... wow that coffee taste in the morning was so good. The coffee was not just a coffee. The Italian coffee had such a special authentic aroma better than all other coffees I ever drunk in my life.
This hotel made afternoon tea and coffee with cakes for the guest as well, which was a second occasion in the day to impress the guests and convince to come back again!!!!
We were there over Easter, and the Easter Sunday was more than amazing, the Easter Egg was a piece of massive chocolate with a high circumference that only two persons were able to cover, over one meter high special fine milk chocolate. We were very impressed of this hotel!!! This is more than three star hotel, this is a miniature of a five star plus hotel! We very strogly recommend it if you decide to travel to Venice!

An atmospheric hotel ideally located in the centre of the city with easy access to the shops, restaurants and major tourist attractions. There is a very warm and friendly feel to the hotel which is reinforced by the members of staff. Nothing was too much trouble at any time of the day and they go out of their way to make their guests feel very welcome. Our room was spacious and well furnished in keeping with the feel of the hotel. The hotel offers a free coffee and cake in the afternoon which is excellent and the breakfast buffet offers a wide choice to start the day. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the quality of the hotel and the warm welcome of the staff added to our enjoyment of the city.

Located just steps away from Piazza San Marco, this small hotel offered a fabulous breakfast and amazing 4 o'clock tea (with a wide variety of yummy desserts). The breakfast/tea seating area is beautiful and makes one think you are in the lap of luxury. The 4 p.m. tea was so good, we made a point of being there each day! Rooms are lovely and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

When we arrived we did have a problem with the double room. It was booked as a double room but with twin beds. After asking twice we presented a delegation of both of us to insist on twin beds. This problem was dealt with a touch of rebellion and only after standing over and waiting until someone came through and while we watched the beds were separated. After this the stay was good but it should have been dealt with sooner and spoilt the start of the stay.

My husband and I were visiting Venice for our 30th wedding anniversary and have just spent 4 nights at this lovely hotel. It's about a ten minute walk from the Alilaguna ferry stop at San Marco and ideally situated for generally getting around Venice. We arrived in the rain, but were warmly greeted and offered a drink whilst we waited for our room to be ready, which it shortly was.
The Montecarlo, like most buildings in Venice, is old, decorated in Venetian style and immaculate. The staff are without exception, lovely. Our room was on the third floor, in the corner. A nice touch was the bottle of fizz and lovely biscuits left for us. The room was a nice size, with shuttered windows out to the alley below. As a personal preference, we preferred to keep the shutters open as with them closed it was very dark and felt slightly claustrophobic. The bathroom had a shower over the bath, which did leak water through the bottom of the screen. Again it was a good size with nice toiletries and a hairdryer attached to the wall. There was tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Breakfast was a buffet, with hot and cold selections, which we thought very good. Hot drinks are available via two machines. In the afternoon between 4 and 6pm, there is a complimentary afternoon tea.
There is a optional free trip to Murano to visit a glass workshop, where you see a glass blowing demonstration then you are guided through various glass showrooms and a shop. This is a trip for a particular workshop and we were not allowed to then leave to browse the rest of Murano. So, the company took us to F.Nuove on Venice, where we made our own way back to Murano and onto Burano, which is a gorgeous island!
As our flight back home was in the evening, the hotel stored our luggage until we left. The hotel are currently renovating the second floor, but it did not bother us, as they keep it sealed off and start and finish at times that don't impact on their guests.
This is such a pleasant hotel and an ideal base for exploring Venice.
