“An overlooked Gem”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2012

Visited this Trattoria on recommendation of our hotel, who also booked our table. What a great find, a warm welcome, the two brothers greeted us as if we were old friends with complementary glasses of Prosecco and a cheery choice of red or white wine ( no stuffy wine list here), the red was very acceptable. Good hearty food as we watched a succession of colourful locals pass through the bar area, this is not a just a tourist place. The brothers told us the restaurant had been in their family for 40 years, bought by their father. The bill was very reasonable for the location. Seek out this hidden gem, you will not be disappointed.

Walked 40mins from hotel to get back to this place and had a great evening had prosecco with locals same clams and laughed all night. If this is not the authentic Venetian experience way from the tourists I do not know what is! Let stefano and Roberto introduce you to the real Venice, dock workers and ships captains included. The real Venice

“Oasis in a tourist place like Venice.. Best Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 January 2012

Across from San Basillio vaparetto stop. Nothing fancy from outside..Food is the best and most delicious. Owner/Chef and his brother great hosts. Don't expect fancy service nor the like typical tourist restaurant... it's there from 1970's

Best restaurant away from hustle bustle for quiet and relaxing Dinner

“Best pasta ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2011

Small local restaurant right at the corner of the end of Dorsoduro; also the vaporetti stop of the San Basilio (water bus). This restaurant-bar is operated by Roberto and Stefano who made us feel right at home since they are very likable and easy going people, they both speak English fluently. I reckon if they didn't, they would still have their ways to make their customers feel at ease and enjoy their meals the same. We dined at the Trattoria twice and twice the food was perfect, we had spaghetti a la bolognesa and spaghetti with clams for starters each time and enjoyed them like the very first time. Needless to say, the main courses were equally great for both of us. Spaghetti is something you can have anywhere but believe me not like how they prepare it at Trattoria San Basilio restaurant.
There are only 3 - 4 small tables; hence, reservation is a must.
Hope you enjoy eating at the Trattoria and Venice, we had the greatest time ever.

“Really Nice Authentic Place - Really Social Owners”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 October 2011

Went with tow friends we eat a mixed plate of fish hors d'oeuvre and four glasses of prosecco . The food was lovely with a really nice view seating outside.

Really loved the food and inside it looks really nice like I am sure Harry's Bar would have looked at one time. I loved the welcome it seemed authentic.

Easy to get to as its only a few water bus stops away from San Marco .

Nice area to stay in as well !
