One of the best seafoods I've ever had, but the price is a little bit exagerated, paid 100+ EUR for two, which is not OK for a restaurant in the outskirts of Padova, which is nothing special.

I went to this restaurant twice in a week as I was en route through Italy to Austria and then back again so I have had two bites of the cherry in one review.

This is a mixed review in many ways. I need to explain that my experiences have revealed that although this restaurant is in and in every respect appears to be part of the Crowne Plaza Hotel at Padova, it is in fact under separate and distinct management. This is an interesting situation and creates potential difficulty. You are contracting with one entity and yet another is providing part of the service you are buying. This can create confusion because if you have an issue you do not know who to complain to.

As any regular visitor to IHG hotels will know, for breakfast the "choice" of eggs is a standard part of the offering. It came therefore as a shock when on the first visit I asked for fried eggs which were not on offer on the hot table and was told that I could have these provided were I to pay extra. This did not go down well as, so far as I am aware from my experience, fried eggs and other options are available as a matter of course and if not on display merely have to be asked for.

I complained afterwards and was informed that in fact the refusal to provide fried eggs as a matter of course was a mistake. On my next visit they were provided without fuss so visitors to this establishment now know that they can ask for alternative eggs for breakfast and not expect to be faced with a refusal or, worse, a demand for additional money.

We also took dinner here on two occasions. The menu is not particularly extensive but I do get the feeling that this is a restaurant which does care about its cuisine. It certainly has a very attentive maître d'ît.

We tried the tasting menu on the first occasion and this was not bad although for me the pasta course was extremely dry. On the next dinner I took the Angus steak and this was very nice, albeit just a little over cooked.

The maître d'ît recommended an excellent Italian wine and I have attached a photograph. I do recommend this and I hope the picture will help you to identify it.

Unfortunately what is really sad is that this restaurant which seeks to be up market [as far as I believe] has no dress code and we found that many people were coming into the restaurant dressed in trainers, jeans and track suits and really this is unacceptable. At the very least they could have put these people in a separate part of the restaurant but to mix them with the much better and nicely dressed guests and elegant ladies was a bad mistake.

Of course the primary interest in a restaurant is the food but the service and surroundings all are part of the "dining experience" and I do hope that this establishment can do something to improve the "ambiance" aspect for what rightly deserves to be regarded as a good restaurant, if perhaps a little expensive.

If I pass this way again I shall certainly call in here. I give it a mark of 4 in anticipation!

Good service, nice and reasonably priced wine, good decor but the food was decidedly average and the place was a bit empty and soulless

My family of 6 was staying at the Crowne Plaza in Padua and this restaurant is located at the hotel. Our first night there we were all super hungry and didn't want to leave the hotel to go eat. They don't start serving dinner until 7:30pm. It was worth the wait. We started by ordering a bottle of a local red wine that only cost 12 euros. It was really good! My little kids shared a cheese pizza and ate the whole thing. My husband ordered the linguine with clams and said it was really good. My other kids ordered something else and really liked them a lot. I had the lasagna and loved it so much that I finished the whole thing.
We ended up eating at the restaurant on the second night as we enjoyed it very much. The waiter even brought my husband and I a glass of wine from a local place to try. It was amazing! The food was just as great as the night before.
I would totally recommend eating here if you are in Padova.
