“Love at first sight!”
Reviewed 15 October 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Loved it from the moment we met it! Andrea met us and escorted us to the underground parking~very close to the apartment, then took us to the apartment where his darling mom Juancarla greeted us and enthusiastically showed us the details of their lovely place. The stairs to get up are stone and winding but are manageable. What a treat to stay in this beautiful, clean, updated piece of history. One room is a living room, kitchen and dining area, beautifully appointed with a new kitchen/flat screen/couch/dining table and chairs/sideboard with no detail left out. All furnishings are of a high quality and there are books, DVDs and CDs to enjoy. The bathroom has a shower, bidet, toilet and sink and includes a new washer/dryer combo. The bedroom has a queen (I believe) bed with a large wardrobe and a nice view of the lake. This apartment has everything, and I mean everything for your stay including fridge/oven/gas and elect burners/microwave/elect kettle/cleaning supplies. We have stayed in many flats that had no paper towels/tp/corkscrew/napkins etc...but this place had it all and more; Juancarla left us a carton of milk, bottle of water, cereal, bottle of Spumante (delicious) and some homemade limoncello in addition to plenty of tp, handsoap, etc. You need not bring anything! In fact, there is a lovely store in the bottom of the building that sells mushrooms, wine, pasta and more. Wonderful restaurants, wine bars and gelato stands are abundant in this charming town. We left the car parked for 3 nights and had a lovely time despite some cold and rainy weather. They also have the apt next door, which I was thinking would be perfect for anothet couple that we love to travel with. And it would pass muster with my neat freak friend! In short, Andrea and Juancarla take tremendous pride in ownership and will ensure your
comfort in their apartment!

“Wonderful stay in a wonderful town!”
Reviewed 2 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

My husband and I had a wonderful stay in this apartment for a week in August. It is well-appointed, the owner is extremely pleasant and helpful and the location is unmatched in Orta San Guilio. You are right in the heart of the town and can walk to anywhere you would want or need to go. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was exceptionally clean and nice. The kitchen has all brand new cabinets and appliances and is well stocked if you want to do cooking. With so many wonderful restaurants to dine in town, however, you will be tempted to eat out more often than dine in! I'm so glad we decided to stay in Lake Orta rather than the larger cousins like Maggiore or Como given the time of year we went. We did drive to the other lakes and had wonderful day trips, but there was something magical about staying in the tiny village of Orta San Guilio and I now dream of returning some day!

“Magnificent”
Reviewed 29 July 2013 for a stay in June 2013

Thank you Andrea for a wonderful stay and an absolute wonderful location. If you are looking for a place to relax without the crowds this place is it. Andrea was a fantastic host which made it all that much better. I enjoyed the place so much that I came back two weeks later and stayed in his second apartment just behind this one.
Tips/suggestions: The stairs to the apartment are steep so if you have an injury/disability this may cause a problem.
Andrea can provide secure car-parking close by.
There is a small store however I suggest buying up large before arriving.
Heaps of cute and lovely places to dine all in walking distance.
It takes about 20 seconds to walk to the lake and it is devine to swim in.
The shower is tiny, like real tiny so if you are large you might find it difficult.
The wifi works wonderful and the bed is comfy as.
There is some night noise between 6-11pm from the walking traffic out front so you will have to close the windows during that time.
The train stop is a 20minute walk as I did it, taxis can be hard to find.
Staying here was a real treat.
The second(rear apartment) is a tad smaller but more quieter. The bathroom and bedroom is bigger though. It is all much the same layout as the front apartment. I stayed a week in each.
Lake Orta is by far better than Verbania and other nearby towns if you just want to rest, chill and share romance with your loved one.
I highly recommend. Mike:-)
